"Um, yeah?" He really scared the hell out of you, your breathing was heavy.

"I... detect an acceleration in your heart rate. I'm sorry. Didn't mean to scare you."

You shook your head, standing up. "I-It's fine. I was just... Nevermind."

The Android turned to face you properly.

"My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife." The Android named Connor held up his hand for a handshake.

Connor? It's not a bad name, I guess. He kinda looks like a Connor.

You stopped for a moment to analyze his features. Chocolate eyes, little freckles around his face and a well ironed dress shirt. But his look...there was something in it. An innocent look. The aura of genuineness around him, pulling you like a magnet. It is interesting. But little do you know, that he was also analyzing you.

"I'm (L/N)... (Y/N) (L/N), I mean." You shook his hand.

(Y/N) (L/N)

"Are you also waiting for Lieutenant Anderson's arrival?" Connor asked.

"You mean Uncle Hank?" You ironically smirked, arms folded. You're not very used to call your godfather by his title. Well, at least not anymore. "Yeah, kinda. Bet that bastard is not even out of bed yet."

"Are you relatives?"

"Who wants to know?" You sarcastically raised your eyebrow. Connor didn't understand, he already introduced himself so why would you say that? You chuckled at his partial confusion. "Yes, I'm his goddaughter."

You have the strange habit to raise your right brow everytime you are being sarcastic or ironic. You developed this habit when you were a teenager, and usually people wouldn't like that kind of mockery gesture, but sometimes it's out of your control. It became something natural and it's now part of you.

"I didn't know he had a goddaughter." Connor looked away for a second, it's a good thing to learn a new information. It may be useful in the future since Lieutenant Anderson doesn't know yet about his new partnership with Connor.

You shrugged "It's hard to tell if you really know me. So, why are you waiting for Uncle Hank?"

"I here to be his new partner." Connor explained. "Cyberlife sent me to help with investigations related to deviants."

"Partner??" You couldn't help but laugh. "This is so ironic..."

"What do you mean?" Connor tilted his head, not fully understanding what is so funny. His LED flashing yellow.

"Oh, I just hope he is in a good mood." You said. Connor is still trying to understand. You stretched out. "Since he's not here yet I'll just stretch my legs for a bit. You can snoop around if you want to, as if he got something to hide there."

You started wandering around the department, leaving Hank's desk for a while.

You got distracted by those honors on the wall. Reading the compliments, the shining medals hanging, and the smiling photos. Each member of this department has put a lot of effort to be recognized. You wondered if you would be one of them by now if you...

Well done, team. Well done...

Then you were pulled out of your thoughts by a strange noise coming from a room next to you. As you walked towards the room you saw Gavin leaving with someone you presumed who was his partner. And by the door entrance you saw Connor crouched down, holding his own abdomen.
