Camila walked through the city, quickly trying to reach her destination. It had been a month since that wonderful day that she met her soulmate.

Lauren, Lauren, Lauren.

The green-eyed goddess was all she could think about. She thought back to the moment they finally saw each other.

[She was easily the most beautiful woman Camila had ever witnessed, with the most sparkling green eyes she had ever seen.

She was so lucky, and prayed that she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

Camila subconsciously started walking toward the black-haired beauty and Lauren started walking as well.

They met up in the middle and Camila didn’t even know what to do. Camila watched Lauren bring her hands up to her face and felt the pads of her thumbs wipe away tears she didn’t know were falling from her eyes.

She brought her hands up and held onto the taller girl’s forearms, like she needed to know she was really there, with her.

“I was right, you are beautiful.” And just like that, Camila felt it.

Love at first sight, with the person whose soul matched hers from the day she was born.

They were made for each other.]

Unfortunately, Lauren had only been in town for the weekend, for a short vacation with her brother, Chris, and her parents who weren’t at the game.

Being that they were all adults, the two younger of the four forming their own lives, they didn’t get to see each other too often, so they arranged these short trips once a month for them to all see each other.

It was pure fate that their family’s vacation destination for that month had been New York City, the very same weekend that Camila moved there.

Even more so, that they’d be at the same basketball game. She had been slightly heartbroken when she found out that it was Lauren’s last day in the city, but relieved again when her soulmate promised that they’d keep in contact and talk every day, if even for a few moments.

Now, she was on her way to a small café down the street from her office building to meet up with Lauren again.

The older girl had made an impromptu trip to NYC to see Camila, apparently with news that she had to tell her in person. At first she was nervous, worried to find out that Lauren was moving to Japan or had cancer or something equally as depressing.

Still, she stayed positive and walked into the café with the brightest smile she could muster. It wasn’t hard though, just the thought of speaking to Lauren, much less seeing her, gave her immediate butterflies.

She looked around and immediately saw the green eyes she instantly fell in love with hidden by a pair of sunglasses and looking down at the phone screen in her hand. Before the other girl could spot her, she stood by the counter and “spoke” to her.

God, sunglasses indoors? My soulmate is a douche.” The black-haired girl whipped her head up, obviously looking for the source of the voice.
