First Duel and Meeting Her

3rd Person POV

[The boy had learned everything that he needed to know about his deck. It was time to try and enter LDS. He went over to admissions where a woman was standing]

Boy: Excuse me. I would like to take an exam to enter LDS.

Woman: What is your primary summoning method?

Boy: What's that?

Woman: XYZ, Synchro, or Fusion.

Boy: Well I can do all three.

Woman: Do you have one that you use more than the others?

Boy: Umm...I can Link Summon.

[The woman stares at the boy with a dead expression]

Woman: Sir, please give a real summoning method or I may have to ask you to leave.

Boy: No seriously. My primary method of summoning is Link Summoning.

[The lady asked for security and the boy was escorted out. That was frustrating. He didn't know any other duel school around. Then he found You Show Duel School. He went to the office where a girl with pink hair was talking to a guy with tomato hair]

Boy: Excuse me. I would like to enroll here!

[The two looked at the boy]

Girl: Really?

Boy: Yeah. LDS kicked me out since I didn't have a specific summoning method.

Yuya: Hey, there. I'm Yuya.

Boy: You're the boy who invented Pendulum Summoning. I've been looking forward to meeting you.

Yuya: Oh really?

Boy: Yeah. So I could beat you in a duel!

Yuya: You think you can?

Boy: I know I can.

Yuya: Then you're on!

[The three went to the action field where the girl with pink hair explained to a man, who apparently was her father, what was happening]

Computer: Action Field: Circus. Action cards dispersed.

Boy: Action cards. I heard that's how you beat the champion. I guess you couldn't beat him outright.

Yuya: What are you talking about?

Boy: You use cards to get out of situations. How about this? We don't use any action cards unless absolutey necessary?

Yuya: Fine. Get ready to go!

Boy/Yuya: Let's duel!

[The boy could see that others had come to see the duel. The girl with pink hair seemed to be watching Yuya. The boy wished he had someone to cheer him on but he guessed it would never happen]

Turn 1- Yuya

Boy- 8000 LP/ Yuya- 8000 LP

Yuya: I'll go first. It's my draw! I use Scale 1 Stargazer Magician and Scale 8 Timegazer to set the Pendulumn Scale. I'm taking control of this duel starting now! I can now summon monsters from levels 2 through 7 all at the same time. Swing far, Pendulum! Carve the Arc of Victory! My monster is ready to swing into action! Turn up the heat, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

[The viewers were excited to see the Pendulum summon. The girl with pink hair had hearts in her eyes for Yuya. This made the boy very jealous but he didn't understand why]

Yuya: With that, I'll end my turn!
