Kekkai genkai: Yami No Mei (Eye of Darkness) is one of the most lethal dōjutsu known. It rivals the genjutsu of the Uchiha sharingan and allows for shadow manipulation more complex than the Nara's.
The Yami No Mei has three stages which evolve with training or loss of a bonded. In it's first stage, the eye takes the shape of a yin/yang symbol, although where white is, in the Yami No Mei, red. This stage allows the use of genjutsu by touch and enhances the eyesight.
The second stage includes shadow manipulation and teleportation. The eye takes on a red and black kaleidoscopic design.
The final stage, which can only be attained through loss of a bonded, rapidly increases the speed of the user, allows for summoning of creatures of the dark and, for skilled users, control of the mind.
It is unheard of, for the few half breeds that exist, to posses the Kekkai genkai. But, as Ahmya was born on the day of the yin/yang festival, she possessed it from the moment her eyes opened to the world. Ahmya is the first child to be born on that day.
Note: The yin/yang festival is the day the Yami No Mei is at it's fullest power. It is when the guardians descend and darkness is at its peak. Another notable feature of the Himura is their purple chakra which can be manipulated into fire that is so cold it burns. Also, Himura can severe bonds and get their 3rd stage of Yami No Mei but it's excruciatingly painful and comes with a price.

NB: A bonded is someone who is important to a Himura so much that they become attached by the Himura's chakra.
