Sam was sitting in class twiddling his pencil in his fingers, bored out of his mind. All his other classes were alright but this class... it tore at his brain cells.
Today was the day their class would perform their presentations about US history. It was Sams turn, he stood up and spoke loudly and clearly. The presentation was easy for him but it was just so..boring. As Sam sat back down in his chair a small boy walked up to the front of the classroom, clutching a piece of paper in his hand tightly.
Sam could tell he was shaking slightly, obviously very nervous to speak in front of the class. As the boy began to speak his words were shaky just like his hands. Sam wasn't even sure how he could read off that paper with it shaking so dramatically.
The boy stuttered and kept his eyes looking straight down at his paper, not daring to look up at all the judgmental eyes staring at him. When he finished his presentation and looked up something snapped. He looked like his oxygen ran out as he mumbled something to the teacher before running out the door, bolting to the bathroom.
Even though Sam didn't know this kid he still got concerned, he raised his hand and the teacher called on him "yes.." she sounded completely done, like she wanted to leave and go home to take a nap. I think that's how everyone in the room felt though.
"Ma'am should I go check on him..?" Sam tried to say it quietly as people were talking so that they wouldn't hear him as much, "I really don't care, knock yourself out" Sam nodded once before standing up and walking out of the room with his backpack strap hanging on his shoulder.
He walked into the bathroom and heard someone sniffling in one of the stalls, he decided to wait until they came out so they wouldn't feel pressured by Sam trying to get them out.
When the sniffles stopped and the stall door opened Sam looked up to see Daniel. After Daniel wiped his eyes dry and went to glance at the mirror to see if his eyes were puffy he saw Sam standing in front of him. His mouth hung open, the pacifier in his mouth dropping to the floor as his face went pink with embarrassment.
