After Chase explains himself I lookup at his mom who has the look of pain and guilt in her eyes. "This is all my fault." she mumbles and her husband stands there dumbfounded
"You couldn't have seen this coming." JJ says sadly. She starts to cry but no one moves to comfort her not even her husband. I put Chase down but before I even know what my feet are doing I engulf her in a hug. At first she seems startled but then relaxes and hugs me back, she cries into my shoulder.
"It's not your fault at all you can't control what that man did the best thing you can do is be the best mother for your son, love him, and hold him close. But never blame yourself for this." I say softly but also sternly. Her splotchy face looks back at me and she looks confused
"How old are you?"
"Uh 16." I mumble softly
"Well you are going to be a great mother someday."
"Um well I hope so." there is a period of silence where we are just smiling at each other
"We should be- be going back now." Reid stutters. I give one more reassuring squeeze on her arm and then turn around and start towards the door.
"Bella wait!" I hear Chase yell and foot steps running down the hallway and hugs my leg "Thank you." he says
"No problem sugar." I say and scuffle his hair. He lets go and runs down the hallway. We walk out side and make our way to the SUV I shift back into my regular uniform
"You were really good in there." Reid says
"Well I have had a lot of practice being the alpha." I hear JJ on the phone with Hotch telling him the new news.
"You know what I've noticed?" he asks awkwardly I nod my head "You are so tense when you are talking to everyone but when your talking to me you seem so relaxed." he says with his awkward smile
"Well I guess you just know what it's like to be different, and I relate to that." I say with a laugh
"Yeah well ah I'm here for ya sis." he says and bumps me in the arm
"Likewise." I say and laugh
"Will you two hurry up!" JJ calls
"I call shot gun!" I yell and run to the car, I hear Spencer groan. We get seated in the car and I quickly shift back into my battle uniform. The drive to the station was silent and awkward.
"Hey do u want to see something cool?" I say shyly
"I'm a little scared but okay." JJ says jokingly
"Pick a song." I say
"Beethovens 5th symphony!" Reid calls from the back, I see JJ roll her eyes.
"Okay." I turn the radio on with a flick of my head and a soft rock song plays. I close my eyes and start the scan through all of the stations with my brain, the radio going sounding like Mumbo jumbo as it changing quickly. Until Beethovens 5th symphony chimes through. I open my eyes and smile happily
"I'll admit that was pretty cool but I can do some mean party tricks." JJ jokes and Reid just stares in awe like his brain exploded.
