It's the vacation period after our end semester exams. Nayeon and I keep ourselves busy with part time jobs while we try to spend time with one another whenever possible. I went back to my workplace since high school while Nayeon worked in a clothing store since she loves fashion so much. Our time together was limited but we did our best to utilize the little time we have together.

One day, I was working and received a text from Nayeon's mum that she was hospitalized after collapsing due to fatigue accompanied with a high fever. I got a shock as the message was sent 6 hours ago while I was handling the restaurant crowd. I couldn't sleep that night as my baby girl was sick in hospital and I 'm dying to visit her. Luckily I'm not working the next 2 days so I have plenty of time to visit her. Before turning in, I dropped a text saying that I’ll visit her in hospital the next day.

The next day, I bought flowers and headed to the hospital. I located Nayeon's ward and surprised her. She looked weak and pale as her body temperature was quite high, but was happy to see me nonetheless.

"Aish pabo, do you have any idea how worried I was yesterday?" I teased Nayeon as I gave her a hug.

Nayeon didn’t say anything and hugged me back as I kissed her forehead. She felt bad that I had to see her in this state but was happy nonetheless as I came to visit her.

“Thank you Y/n, sorry I made you worry.” She said weakly.

“It’s ok baby, I’m here.” I replied. Seeing my baby so touched warmed me up as I'm so lucky I landed with her in this relationship. I'm grateful to have such a kind and understanding girlfriend and I wanted to return the favour to her by making her feel loved.

We broke the hug and I looked at her. "Feeling better?" I asked with a smile. She finally smiled and nodded while I rubbed her head.

"Yah don't touch my hair" she said while giving cute angry faces.

"Aww my baby is sick" I teased as she continued to sulk.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get better.” I encouraged her and kissed her.

Nothing could compare to spending time with her as she’s been incredibly tolerant throughout the course of our relationship.

“Yah, you should know your limits.” I nagged Nayeon, as she often has a couple of bad habits that stick with her since high school like skipping meals and sleeping late.

This hospital visit proved to be a good time for both of us to have a heart-to-heart talk with one another as we shared our concerns with one another and even though Nayeon was sick, she still reassured me like she had in the past while at the same time, has to deal with her own inner demons. Despite being such a positive person, this is also the first time I’ve seen her so insecure and worried about our relationship, afraid that we’d break up. However, I assured her that I would not let that happen and reassured her of my love for her.

The nurse suddenly came in to give Nayeon her dinner and I realized how much time has passed. Nayeon then told me she hasn’t had any appetite ever since she was admitted and barely ate since then. However, she managed to finish her dinner as she was hungry after going a whole day having not eaten. I continued to stay on into the night as her parents came to visit her. They thanked me for looking after their daughter as they were busy at work. They left before Nayeon was about to turn in while I continued to stay on. She fell asleep and I stroked her hair as I suddenly felt sleepy and fell asleep beside her bed.

“Yah, wake up.” I heard a girl’s voice call out to me. It was Nayeon, who found me sleeping beside her bed.

“Morning sleepy head.” She teased. Nayeon looks a lot better today as compared to yesterday.

“Thank you for accompanying me” she thanked me. I gave her a kiss and smiled at her.

“You’re looking better today” I complemented as she gave me a weak smile.

She then decided to go for a walk outside her ward after lunch and I accompanied her. I spent the entire day at the hospital until I had to go back home to rest up for work the next day.

“Yah, take care of yourself” I reminded Nayeon.

“Don’t worry, I promise I will.” She assured me as I kissed her and left the hospital.  Nayeon was soon discharged after being confirmed that she was well enough to go home as I heaved a sigh of relief that her illness was nothing serious.
