The door opens and Torie walks in. She and Abram lock eyes and she notices his bruise.

ABRAM

It's not as bad as it looks.

TORIE

Are you okay, at least?

Abram smirks.

ABRAM (CONT'D)

Is that a real question?

Torie gives a bitter laugh. Moving on.

TORIE

Flynn, I have a favor to ask. Clarke said you're good with a camera, and we need a director for our video shoot. Are you up for the job?

FLYNN

Yeah, sure.

TORIE

Great. We're meeting at the skating rink after school.

Abram shoots Torie a dark look.

ABRAM

The skating rink?

TORIE

I would invite you, but I know how you like to ride solo so why bother? (to Flynn) I'll text you the details.

She walks out. Flynn glances at Abram. Wants to say something. Swinging his leg against the wall. Abram looks up at him.

ABRAM

Is there something on your mind, Flynn?

FLYNN

I'm probably not the most certified for giving dating tips, but I think if you want a girl to like you, you should be nice to her.

JEFF

Wait, you like Torie?

NIKKI

I knew it! Ever since that test, you two have been getting awfully cozy. I say go for it.

JEFF

She and Jaxson just broke up.

NIKKI

And clearly she's moved on.

JEFF

Wait, since when did you like Torie? Is that what happened on your secret mall trip we weren't invited to?

NIKKI

You kissed her didn't you? It's all over your face, man. It's a done deal.

ABRAM

Nothing happened. We're too different. It would never work.

NIKKI

You give up way too easily.

FLYNN

You could win her over with a grand gesture. Show up to the skating rink. Tell her how you feel. Preferably, without the sarcasm.

ABRAM

That sounds very Hallmark. I'll take it under consideration.

FLYNN

So you'll think about it?

ABRAM

This conversation is over.

He packs up his things and gets up.

NIKKI

You should just come. You might actually have fun. Watching people fall is the best part.

ABRAM

Not my scene.

FLYNN

You never know. Things can change.

The bell rings.
