Missions

109 4 1

I walk along this crooked path,

Trying to find the right way to my home.

But then ask myself,

Do I really have home?

I try to take a cleansing bath,

Scrubbing hard with soap and foam.

But the dirt it clings itself,

To me no matter how thick the foam.

I wander off the path,

Seeing it leads me to my doom.

And I see a miserable path,

One that echoes and it booms.

I look down the path,

Wondering what it is that booms.

I start down the path,

Feeling a presence as it looms.

A Holy Spirit comes,

Beckoning for me to follow it.

I then take a step,

Leaving the past and sin with it.

As I walk I begin to hum,

Something that comes to me bit by bit.

I see a sight and then I wept.

Then my heart falls in a pit.

A sight so powerful,

No mortal eyes may witness it.

A sight so beautiful,

Nothing else can compare.

Then I feel a lull,

And I almost have a fit.

He walks towards me so very graceful,

And I tell myself it's not fair.

I do not deserve to be here,

I am a crooked man.

I begin to walk away,

To remove my tainted presence from His.

Then He spoke and filled me with fear,

And He tool my sin like no one else can.

I felt purified and wanted to stay,

To stay with Him was something I would not miss.

But He had a mission for me,

For there were many others who did not know,

Of His grace and gentleness,

And it was my job to tell them all.

I accepted the mission in front of me,

To spread the word I would go,

And I would not go faithless,

For The Lord would catch me should I fall.
