You were sulking in your room when your best friend came in. "Ice cream and wine. Both of your favorites." Tom sat down on the bed next to you. "Break ups suck, but you'll get through it. I'm sure there's a lot of guys that want a chance to be with you. I know there's a lot of guys that want a chance with you."
"Thanks Tom."
He sat there listening to your problems until he made you stand up.
"Why?"
"Just do it." Once you did, he pulled you into his chest and started swaying. "I know you love dancing so-"
"You wouldn't happen to be one of those guys that wants a chance, would you?" Before he could answer, you kissed him. Once the shock wore off, he kissed you back. The only time he stopped was to take a breath.
"Wow." He brushed the hair out of your face. "Yeah, I am. You kind of cut me off before-"
"You could answer?"
"Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck, nervous to look at you.
"I'll give you a chance, but I need my best friend more than I need a boyfriend right now."
"I will be your best friend until you give me the chance to be more."
