Nose flaring, and
Lips quivering,
She tried to keep it all under control,
To school her features
But a sob still broke through.

Hands trembling, and
Legs shaking,
He wished he did not feel this.
This helpless feeling of free falling
But a muffled scream still escaped.

Fingers fisted,
Stomach clenched,
Face set,
They promised themselves to never love— feel this way again, ever.
But this promise was made to be broken…
