When The Sun Sets

Lena's POV:

    I waft the scent of green tea from my petite mug as I set it down onto my desk. I let my body fall onto my chair, my velvet sweatshirt rubs against the chair creating friction. The dim lights on the city go through my large, rustic window, giving the room a little bit more of a cozy feeling. I slowly reach for the thin air with my hands, stretching my arms before I start with my schoolwork. I had hauled a casset onto my desk a few days ago, and I wondered if it still could work. I pressed on and listened to the ambient music coming from the olden machine. I open my glasses case with a click, a baby pink case that could fit nothing else but my reading glasses. I wiggle them on my face, constantly trying to not get my lavender locks knotted onto the thin temples. The sky had turned into a gradient of pink and blue, the clouds were glowing from the effect of the sunset. With a click of a button, my face shone with bright light as I face my laptop screen, my eyes switching from my papers to the screen. Out of the blue, I jump at the sound of a bell sound, and glanced at my phone which sat on my bed, a text message popped up onto the screen. I stretch my hand as far as I could, using my cold fingers to inch my phone closer, almost falling off my chair doing so.

Rose: Hai Len! Do you have the homework notes? I left mine in my locker.. //-.-
Lena: Yeah, I just need to finish a few more notes, I'll give it to you at the dock tomorrow? I'm available at sunset.
Rose: Thank u! Luv u bai bai!

I smile as I put my phone face-down on my table. I have crazy friends. I think to myself, moving my fingers rhythmically to type, words appearing on the screen.
I rotate my head to face the open window, watching as the sun slowly disappears from sight as the clouds dissolve. I lift my shirt up from my shoulders, a white tank top tucked into my comfy sweatpants. I should get to bed now, so I jump onto my plumpy bed and turn my lamp on.
