FLYNN
My allowance. I've been saving up.
ABRAM
Your parents still give you an allowance?
FLYNN
Responsibility builds character.
ABRAM
The irony is jarring.
FLYNN
You don't think I should do it?
ABRAM
I think it's perfectly normal to lie to your girlfriend. Can we go now? We're on a tight schedule.
FLYNN
Yeah. Thanks, Sam. I'll be sure to leave a review.
They leave the store.
INT. ABRAM'S CAR/ EXT. OUTSIDE SAM'S JEWELRY – DAY
POV OF FLYNN'S TABLET
Flynn takes his tablet out of the glove compartment as Abram gets in. Flynn has something on his mind.
FLYNN
Do you really think she's my girlfriend?
ABRAM
You guys never had the talk?
FLYNN
Not really. I mean, I assumed, but she never came out and said that this was a committed relationship. Do you think she's dating someone else?
ABRAM
You, my friend, are a rare find. If she chose you, she must be from the same species. I doubt anyone else is on her radar. Maybe she's waiting for you to make it official.
FLYNN
Make it official...I'll be right back.
He puts the tablet back in the glove compartment.
INT. ABRAM'S CAR/ON THE ROAD – DAY
Flynn's holding a bracelet box.
FLYNN
Can I ask you something?
ABRAM
If you ask me to stop anywhere else, I'm kicking you out.
FLYNN
The song you wrote for the talent show...who's it about? I'm just curious since I never see you with anyone. I didn't think you were into dating. You seem more like a loner.
ABRAM
It doesn't matter. It's just a song.
FLYNN
It sounds like it matters to you.
Abram focuses on the road. Dismissing the conversation.
The car slows down.
FLYNN (CONT'D)
Why are we slowing down?
ABRAM
I don't know.
He pulls over to the side of the road and the car shuts off. He tries to start it up again.
ABRAM (CONT')
Come on. Don't do this.
He tries again and again, but it won't crank up.
ABRAM (CONT'D)
This is not happening right now.
Flynn treads carefully.
FLYNN
Do you have AAA?
CUT TO BLACK.
