Virgil:
"Drop the money Rook!"
"VILLAIN!"
"You're cornered, Rook. It would be wise to hand over the money and come quietly."
God, Virgil hated those three voices. Enthusiastic Golden Heart, overdramatic Daring Prince and emotionless Logistic. Or as he liked to call them, Bubbles (hah PowerPuffGirls reference), Princey and KillJoy.
He turned around slowly and gave the three heroes a smirk. "Sorry, But no-can-do, a guy's gotta make a living somehow."
The heroes glares at him as he slowly walked backwards across the roof.
Golden Heart's glare turned into a wide-eyes look of nervousness as he saw how close Virgil was to the edge.
"Rook!" Golden Heart called. "What're you doing?" He sounded slightly scared.
Virgil just smirked as the other two's faces shone with dawning realisation at how close to the edge he was standing.
"Ta-ta, dorkbrains. See you next time!" He gave the three wide-eyed heroes a double-fingered salute and let himself fall slowly backwards off the ledge feeling the wind rushing around him as he let himself fade into invisibility. He could still see the heroes peering over the edge, staring around for him.
Virgil heard Princey swear and Golden Heart mutter "language." at them.
He used his odd floating ability to slow himself down before he reached the pavement below. He gently touched down on the ground and gripped the case full of money he was holding tighter.
"Hhhh... all I wish for is one mission without those assholes showing up..." he grumbled, the world blurring past him as he used his superspeed to get to where he had to hand over the money.
Virgil skidded to a stop outside a brightly lit office building and walked, still invisible, to the back entrance. He shimmered back into visibility and knocked on the door, putting the case down and tapping his foot impatiently.
The door creaked open and a pair of eyes appeared in the dark doorway, a gloved hand outstretched for the money.
"Yeah, Yeah, hold your horses asshole, I need to take my cut out of it first."
Virgil picked up the case and opened it, pulling out a wad of cash, merely a hundred, and shutting the case again. He tossed the case to whoever was in the doorway and promptly left, not wanting to have to deal with anymore shit. He yawned as the lack of sleep caught up with him.
What he wouldn't give to just be in bed right now...
