Chpt 12- NIGHTMARES

College was over and i was walking home just when a car pulled over. I didn't look who it was and kept my head low. That's what i've been taught since childhood that whenever you encounter trouble, keep your head low and don't stand up for yourself because standing up only brings trouble , nothing else.

As i was going , someone yanked my hair, i screamed but someone kept a hand in front of my mouth. I was dragged in an alley, tears were blurring my vision. 

''Please please let me gooo!'' i said.

''Not so soon, bitch.''

I recognized that voice and looked up only to see her laughing with her minions.That person was none other than Rachel.

She was laughing like a maniac , a psychopath. I stood there, shivering not even able to utter a single words, watching her.

''So bitch, you want to steal my man away from me?"

''Who?'' I said in complete confusion.

''OMGGG! Rachel , look how much guts she has got that she's talking back to you.'' One of her side minion said.

''Oops my bad. I didn't know that Rachel is way older than me that i shouldn't even talk back to her.'' I said in a mocking way.

I didn't know from where i got the courage but later on i regretted it when she slapped me hard. I fell on the ground because of the impact and then she kept her foot on my  right leg, pressing it hard. 

''AH Ahhh.''

She leaned down and pulled my hair. ''Now listen you whore, find someone else to pleasure you in your bed , but if i find you with Jason again then i will give you so much pain that you'll regret your existence.'' With that being said she left.

I did nothing to stop her, all i did was to cry like a pathetic loser , cry like there was no end. But that was normal to me . People have always hurt me in every possible way, they've taken advantage of me all they want .....even my own parents.

**FLASHBACK**

''Mommy, what have you cooked today.''I said as i hopped around her.

''My brain, would you like to eat?"

''Mommy, what's wrong?''

''Just go in your fucking room  hailey , no food for you today.''

***FLASHBACK OVER***

I reached my home and laid on the bed after changing my clothes. I had completed my homework during my free units , so now i had all the time to myself. 

Why every bad thing happens to me? Am i that unfortunate? So much that my parents even refused to accept me as their child...

As i was so drowned into these thoughts that i didn't even notice that i was crying . Everything was hurting so much that it was unbearable . For once i wanted to enjoy my life , for once i wanted to live without fears, for once i want to be myself.

''M-move a-away....W-what are you doing!! H-help!"

He was coming near me with a smirk plastered on his face . I was backing up  until i hit the wall.

I was crying uncontrollably, shaking with fear but no one came to help me , not even my parents.

''N-no w-why are you touching me! DON'T!!''

''NOOO!!'' 

''Stoppp it pleaseeee .''

i screamed and opened my eyes .I was panting , my hand were shaking and my whole body was covered with sweat.

It was another nightmare. I didn't want to take sleeping pills again, it took a lot of time for me to go back to being normal but these nightmares were happening again . I had these twice a month now and because of these i was afraid to sleep so much that i feared that what if HE comes back for me ..

It was six in the morning , i changed my clothes and started to make y way towards the hell hole.When i was walking i felt like somebody was following my, i didn't look back but instead increased my pace. After sometime the footsteps stopped but then i heard them again , moving much faster now. I was  scared, i didn't want any drama anymore. I started running but that person was faster than me .

''YOU!''

''Ah yes?'' He said while scraching the back of his head head nervously

I turned around and started walking again.

''Yah! Hailey why are you so fast?!!! Wait for meee!'' Jason yelled and i rolled my eyes.

Soon he caught up to me and walking right by my side.

''You shouldn't be doing this.'' I said, without looking at him.

''I shouldn't be doing what?'' He asked innocently and i gave him a side glance.

''Walking with me ...What if somebody see's us? What if they-'' I said looking at him with fear filled eyes.

''Hey. Hey. Shushhhh. Take a deep breath and calm down. No one comes to college this early and even f they do see's us then no big deal.''

''It's no big deal for you Jason but for me ...... it's a huge deal.'' With that i left him .

I was now sitting on the roof top of our college watching the beautiful sunrise. Listening to the birds chirping sound , watching the nature of beauty. The rise brings me motivation that no matter what i will rise again . No matter how harsh the weather is , i will rise again. It seems like an unbroken promise, an unsaid promise.

''Beautiful, isn't it?''

''Yes.'' I said , without looking at him . In this i wanted to be lost, without thinking about the bad things but for once i wanted to think about the good things and to think about the bright side.

We both were sitting side by side, his hand was top of mine and when i realized that i tried to pull my hand away.

'' Just sit still Hailey....Stop being afraid of people.''

''It isn't that easy Jason...Like you i wasn't born with a silver spoon in y mouth.''

''Come with me.'' He said before standing up and pulling my hand.

''But where?'' I asked.

''Dont you trust me?''

''I-i d-do ...But what if somebody see's us-''

''No body will and i will make sure of that. now, come.''

And then, i followed him like a lost puppy.

I didn't know where he was taking me , but i trusted him . In that particular moment i wasn't afraid of people seeing me around with him , all i knew that he would take care of me without even me asking him. With him, i felt secure... so much that i've never felt before with anyone . I just wanted to live in the moment and leave all my tensions behind and.. that's what i exactly did , without thinking that how much trouble my one silly mistake can cause.
