The Beginning of the End

Part 12-Realization

As Ella and CJ waited for the warriors to return, she turned to CJ, "So you and I never really talk...I just thought maybe it would be nice to know someone else in our small group." Ella said as CJ nodded not wanting to talk much. "I know you're not much of a talker, but I am so I'll keep talking....I really hate the fact that my family, like my dad and mom are both dead, I can't really move on without them, when they were alive...I was terrible to them and now all I want is my mother here holding me telling me it is all going to be okay, ya know, my cousin Stella is the young pretty one and she has everyone looking at her and then Danny is the one everyone looks to for advice and help, and even my other cousin Logan is better than me at most things...I'm just here living, not really though...I'm just going through the motions." Ella rambled. Just as she finished, CJ said, "It is okay, Ella. Just remember we all need you."

After they broke eye contact, Ella saw Terrell, Maya, Diego, and Jesse with Stella, Jaron, and Danny all coming up to the gate. Terrell motioned for CJ to open the gate while Ella quickly got down not sure why the kids were with them.

"What were you doing out there?!" Ella shouted. Danny hugged her and then whispered, "We were captured by Jason...Terrell is going to go confront him and Wyatt right now. Come with me and we will watch." Danny started to walk away and Ella saw that he had a small knife somehow from somewhere because he should not have a weapon. Jesse was going to bring Stella and Jaron up to his and Gracelyn's room to keep them safe.

"Maya, go find Winnie, she needs to know what happened," Terrell told the woman with the short hair bob. Diego took all the weapons from the warriors that went out on the run and brought them to the shed.

CJ went back to his position of guarding the gate as he made his way up the top of the gate, he saw his sister and Logan running through the courtyard, "She should know better." muttered CJ.

"Logan, we should go back inside for the day like everyone else, this isn't safe, if there is a horde coming." Maggie told Logan as Logan walked really close to the wall inspecting it. Logan turned to the girl with a serious look on his face.

"We need to find an exit in case a horde is on its way...for our group." Logan replied.

"Oh..." Maggie responded and then Logan added, "Summer and Dean told me to do it since they are too busy."

All of the people of New Haven were all panicking and screaming, "This place is supposed to be safe!" One woman shouted, "I brought my family here from Minnesota just because it was the safest place for them!" Another man screamed in sheer panic.

"Let's all just calm down, the horde will probably pass and then we can go back to the way it was." Summer yelled as she stood up on a table with the help of Tony and Dean. Everyone looked over at the blonde on the table. "Now that I have your attention..." Summer looked at Zarie and Jeff who just came into the dining room. "Let's all get back to our jobs in keeping this place running." Summer said as she stepped down while grabbing Tony's hand as she got down. "Zarie, Jeff, go find the kids and Gracelyn, we need to have a group meeting." Summer ordered while Dean smiled to himself thinking about how Summer is becoming the leader of their small group. "All of us need to be there to talk about what to do next."

"Logan, look." Maggie said quietly as she opened a small hatch in the wall. "Most of us could get out using this...if we need to that is."

"Great, let's get back to the others and tell them what we found." Logan replied as he grabbed the girl's hand and pulled her towards the hotel. Maggie looked up at the taller boy and blushed as she got dragged along.

In the penthouse, Terrell burst through the doors of the lord's room with Maya and Diego to his side. "How could you!? You betrayed all of us by sending those three young teens to their death, for what, our safety." Terrell yelled spitting a bit very angrily and loudly. Maya put her hand on his shoulder trying to calm him down.

Wyatt was sitting in his throne like chair looking out over the city and courtyard. Wyatt looked over at Terrell with Jason to his side saying, "I had to do it for their safety, maybe you and the other warriors don't need safety, but all of my civilians do....And you don't understand what was at risk." Jason took a step forward when Terrell started to walk closer to Wyatt. Diego walked over and stood by Maya while Terrell kept walking until he was a few inches from Jason.

"Don't even think about it Terrell or you will be thrown into the pits." Jason mumbled as Terrell grinned with all of his teeth showing. "Try me!" Terrell shouted. Jason quickly pulled out a pistol pointing it at Terrell's head.

"Terrell stop!" Maya said loudly. Diego added, "Man, just do what they say, we are still under his control."

While all of that was happening, Danny snuck in and hid behind a chair with Ella by his side, "Oh, this is getting good." Ella whispered.  Danny just kept watching when something made him open his mouth widely.

It was Winnie holding a shotgun towards Jason, and she told him, "Put the pistol down and I won't shoot." Wyatt was looking desperately at his younger sister who was not even paying attention to him. "I'm going to ask one last time, put the gun down and you live!" Maya and Diego glanced at each other before Jason dropped the pistol and backed up.

"I am overthrowing you now, brother, you have been a liar and betrayer." Winnie said as she went over to the throne and gestured for Wyatt to stand up. He didn't budge so she gestured for Terrell to move him.

"My pleasure." Terrell muttered while he walked up to Wyatt and pulled him to his feet and put his hands behind his back so Maya tied a makeshift handcuffs with a piece of rope she found on a table. Diego did the same thing, but with Jason.

"Put them in the pits." Winnie ordered and Maya and Diego walked off with Wyatt and Jason. Winnie took the throne and looked at Terrell, "Tell the civilians that everything that had happened today was a lie from my brother's mouth." Winnie told Terrell who nodded and left the room. The door opened again and Danny knew he should probably get out now.

"Freya, what are you doing here? Aren't you going to go save your lord or whatever?" Winnie asked sarcastically.

"You are the lord now, love, now I serve you." Freya responded as Ella glanced over at Danny and mouthed, "Are they gay?"

"I guess..." Danny mouthed back.

Freya pulled her girlfriend into a kiss so then Danny and Ella quickly got out of the penthouse room.

The small group was having a meeting in the William's hotel room with Bree sitting on Trey's lap while he was staring at Danny not really paying attention to what was being said. CJ and Maggie were standing over by the window when CJ bent over a bit to whisper, "What were you and Logan doing earlier, you know you can't date yet."

"I know, big bro, that wasn't what was happening. We were looking for an escape route." Maggie responded.

Logan, Stella, Danny, and Ella were all sitting by Jaron, Dean, and Tony who kinda joined the small group.

Gracelyn, Jesse, Jeff, and Zarie were all watching Summer explain what the plan is, "Stay like we have been, make it seem natural and normal, but we need to start getting information about this place and weapons to defend ourselves. Sorry Danny and Logan for giving back the guns you all stole for us, now we need to get all of our old stuff back and hide it in our rooms." Summer was in the middle as she spun around the circle making a eye contact with everyone.

"Does everyone understand the plan?" asked Summer and everyone nodded in agreement. "Great, now let's begin."
