A group of friends were all sitting cross-legged on the floor of the music room, waiting for the arrival of the always late teacher to reveal the 'special announcement' she was always telling them about.
"I wonder what Mrs announcement is?" Ezra asked the group that surrounded him
"Don't know and I don't really want to find out, so hopefully Mrs has forgot about it" Luke hoped
"Yeah I agree with Ezra, oohh I hope it's an excursion to like a music festival or concert or something *sigh*" Frankie gushed at the thought of seeing her favourite music artists live in concert
"Probably not, we don't go on excursions, they are mainly for the sevie kids." Eric shrugged "Any ideas Belle?" He asked the non-interested brunette to his right.
Belle was in too deep reading the book she pulled out of her bag when everyone started talking about the announcement to notice anything her friends were saying to her. Aimée quickly nudged Belle in her left shoulder causing her to drop her book.
"Hey, that wasn't nice Aimée" Belle pouted "I was just getting to the good part" She quickly picked up her book and found her place again. Vira whispered something into Eric's ear
"Belle, Belle, Belle...." Eric rocked her from side to side trying to get her attention. Belle was getting so annoyed that you could see the steam coming out of her ears like a cartoon character.
"WHAT!" Belle finally screamed at Eric
"Do you have any idea about what the announcement could be about?" Aimee asked her friend with slight fear that she would strangle her from disrupting her from the book, Belle took a deep breath.
"I don't know but were about to find out" Belle pointed towards the door while placing her book carefully back into her bag
"Everyone listen up" Mrs Jackson "I have a special announcement as you all know and it's special because our school hasn't done one before ever, and guess what. They chose our class to stage it" Mrs Jackson squeed and jumped with the excitement she couldn't contain
"Cool" Ezra shrugged
"Awesome" Aimée and Luke high-fived
"Only if we have to" Frankie and Eric sighed
"But what is it Mrs?" Belle asked
"We have been asked to stage a musical because they know of all our musical talent" Mrs Jackson clapped her hands
Cheering was quickly filling up the classroom as students couldn't stop cheering from excitement, well except for one individual who sat there looking blankly at the teacher.
"Belle, aren't you excited?" Aimee asked
"Yeah, wooo a musical, fun" Belle said sarcastically waving her hands like she was holding pom poms
"What's wrong, why don't you want to do this musical?" Luke asked confronting Belle
"I-I-I don't want to talk about it" Belle said avoiding eye contact with everyone by staring at he shoes and playing with her thumbs, a slight blush of embarrassment spread across her cheeks
"Okay them" Aimée just shrugged it off
"The musical that was chosen for the production is Beauty and the Beast" Mrs Jackson seemed more excited then her students on the chosen musical
"Awesome, amazing, can't wait, really?" the whole class was screaming out words that sounded like these words, but how much noise filled the room, no one could really tell what was being said
"How romantic" Aimée and Frankie gushed
"Wow romance. A prince gets himself turned into a beast, a beautiful girl stupidly goes to the beasts castle to rescue her only family, her father but gets captured instead. She falls in love with him, he falls in love with her. The bad guy of the story Gaston loves Belle and want's to marry her so when she falls for the beast, Gaston comes to ruin all. He dies, she cries and magically her tears and saying 'I love you' wakes him up and breaks the curse. They get married and live happily ever after, the end. The plot line of a Disney movie, it's like you think nobody has ever heard of this movie, making us perform it as a play when everyone already knows the story, what's the point of that? Well done" Belle said dreamily with a huge amount of sarcasm tone, applauding after she had finished what she was saying
"Belle don't say that" Aimée said
Mrs Jackson just sighed. "Belle, I know everybody knows this movie but it's a romantic story and everyone will love it" she rubbed her temples
"But Mrs. Why? This musical is going to show the wrong thing and send the wrong message towards girls and even guys that we all can become a prince or princess" Belle said standing up meeting Mrs Jackson's eyeline whilst her hands were balled into fists
"Belle I think you have the wrong idea" Frankie told her friend, putting a hand on her leg hoping she would just sit back down
"Miss Collette, the moral or err point of the story is not telling people they can become princes and princesses, it's saying that beauty isn't everything. It's not what's outside that counts, it's wat's inside" Mrs Jackson, rubbing her temples and annoyed at Belle stated
"Whatever, I don't want to be in this play or have anything to do with it anyway" Belle said angrily, rolling her eyes intensively she sat back down
"Before I was so rudely interrupted" Mrs Jackson shot Belle a death glare "I was saying that we are putting on a Beauty and the Beast musical and everyone, I repeat Eeeveryone is going to be involved no matter if it's acting, lights, directing, working backstage or on props, everyone will get to do something" Mrs Jackson couldn't stress 'everyone' enough as she already knew it was going to be hard to get Belle to cooperate on this musical. "Auditions will take place in a few weeks, so be prepared to sing a song and do a little acting"
Right at that moment the bell rung signaling that it was the end of the school day, the students flooded out the door except for a certain group of people.
"Belle, please just stop" Luke said grabbing her arm and pulling her back into the classroom so that she couldn't get away
"You can learn to just suck it up princess and do the musical, then you can get on with your life" Aimée sassily spoke to her friend
"Plus you were born for this roll, take your name for instance, your name is Belle. It's like this is your destiny" Frankie said encouraging her friend to give the musical a shot
"Who are you to talk about destiny, hu Frankie? Belle, that's just my name it has nothing to do with anything" Belle said throwing her around creating gestures
"Oh Belle, yes it does, you were born to play this roll, admit it. Just audition please" Vira said
"How about I come to the auditions but not actually audition because I am apart of this class still and can support you guys, but mostly to support you guys" Belle asked
"Okay fine but we are gonna need your opinion, you know that right" Eric raised an eyebrow
"Okay are we done here now? Yes, good. I-I'll see you guys tomorrow, bye" Belle said walking off leaving her friends looking back at her, it took all of her strength from turning around and seeing their sad faces because that would just make her feel worse.
