Taehyung runs around frantically in his room as he searches for his backpack. Clothes were thrown all over the place, and he knew Namjoon wouldn't be pleased to see it in such a state. But Taehyung didn't care. The backpack is one of the things that reminds the boy of his late grandmother. He lays on the ground, exhausted and upset when someone opened his door and threw his backpack onto his face. Taehyung brushed the backpack off his face and looked at his hyung.

"Ever heard of knocking?" Taehyung scoffs. Truth be told, he doesn't mind when Namjoon barges in.

"Ever heard of using that brain of yours?" his cousin responds. "You didn't even think about checking the living room? You were bothering me and mom the whole fucking time yesterday that you forgot that you left it there!"

"I don't have a brain, you should know that by now."

"Get your lazy ass up and pick up your clothes, Mom is making breakfast," Namjoon said, ignoring Taehyung's comment, and left the room. Taehyung rolled his eyes and groaned. He looks at the mess he had made earlier. 'Nah, I'll do it later.' He picked up all of the clothes on the ground and shoves it under his bed. He puts on one of his favorite sweatshirts, that goes well with his dark jeans and his socks with sandals. He carries his backpack and puts it on one the hangers near the front door. He takes in a whiff of a heavenly smell of pancakes. His mouth starts to drool and his stomach growls. He walks into the dining room, where the smell was coming from.

"I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road, I'm gonna riiiiiide-" Namjoon sang in a horrible scratchy voice with earbuds in both of his ears. Taehyung cringes at his hyung singing abilities. He immediately takes out one of his earbuds and sat next to his hyung.

"Namjoon?"

"Yeah?

"You sound like a dying horse. Please stop." Namjoon scoffs as his mother placed stacks of pancakes in front of the boys. She softly chuckles to herself, secretly eavesdropping to their conversation.

"I have a sore throat, thank you very much." Namjoon glared at Taehyung but his facial expression slowly softens. "This is what kids listen to these days." he shrugged. Taehyung, not hearing what Namjoon said, happily dug into the fluffy pancakes. It was soft and warm in his mouth. It's been so long since he had pancakes. He took a sip of the now cooled hot chocolate. He wasn't a big fan of coffee, while his cousin and aunt drank it every morning. He didn't like how bitter it tasted, but Namjoon always tells him that he doesn't even put any sugar in it. Either way, he doesn't like it. He gulps down the rest of the drink and swallows the last bite of pancake.

"Thank you for the food, aunt Myra." Taehyung flashes out his boxy smile. It was a good meal. The boys went into their rooms to fix their hair and other small adjustments. They then headed to the front door and grabbed their bags.

"My handsome boys are going to their first day in a new school, ey? Let me take a pic before you go!" she excitedly said and took out her phone. After 5 minutes of her taking what seems like millions of pictures, she was satisfied. She gave both boys a big hug and kiss on the cheek before saying, "Have a good day at school!"

"We will!" the boys said in unison and started to walk out. They lived pretty near the school, and according to Namjoon's math, it will take them about 5-10 minutes to get there. They both silently observed the sunrise over the hill. There were bright shades of orange near the sun and the blue skies were appearing for the new day. After a few minutes, they saw the school. That's when Namjoon decided to break the awkward silence.

"Phew! I thought mom was going to make us late, but we're right on time." he sighed in relief. Kim Myrayun was those typical moms that take pictures for almost everything and always wanted the best one. Taehyung chuckled.

"New school, huh? I'm actually pretty excited." the younger says. Actually, he was terrified as hell, but he didn't want to seem weak in front of his hyung. Namjoon smiled.

"Oh yeah! When I was driving around town yesterday, I saw a cafe like a couple of blocks away from the school. Wanna go there after school?" Namjoon asked. "Don't worry, I already asked mom for permission, she said we could!"

"Why not?" They both suddenly stopped and stared at the school. It took way quicker than they thought. They both looked at each other. They were one year apart, so Namjoon was a grade ahead of Taehyung.

"Ready?" Namjoon said. Taehyung sighed.

"I think so."
