"Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat."- F. Scott Fitzgerald
With the night hovering above my head, I laid down on the drenched forest ground waiting for the inevitable to happen, for death to engulf me in its peaceful arms, yet nothing happened, the moon was still shimmering in its warm glitter, the clouds bidding farewell to the sky and here I laid my head on the lush green grass.
To describe my emotions would be overwhelming now, they were all over the place, I could barely feel my erratic heart trying to jump out of its cavity.
"Help me, someone, anyone..." A plea left my lush pink lips, probably dripping of blood now. This was the only thing I could do before the walls caved in completely, before I loose the battle so cowardly, before the last memory of my life withered away.
"Its alright, girl, now no one will hurt you. You are officially freed of your burdens, consider this mercy." As the acid laced voice sifted through my ears, all I could imagine was the dirty yellow of his teeth, the musky scent of his hairs, the black of his eyes and the red of his personality, before I was carelessly tossed away in the river.
And then the water danced around me to the beat of death and darkness, shrieking loud in my ears but there was less that I could do now, in a last attempt I flailed my arms but there was an unspeakable force pulling me down towards the unknown abyss.
There are a lot of secrets going down with me though, a lot of battles lost before even starting, I wish I could be stronger, I wish I could be a warrior. I wish I could be a man who was capable of concurring this world, but I was none, I was a mere girl raised in a bubble of a castle. And that bubble burst like an over-riped grape , dropping me in the arms of whimsical monsters.
But God help me, judgment will happen, if there is a next life, I will come back and I will come back as a dangerous woman.
