Evee's P.O.V:

I imagined it.

Just the way Calum described it.

The two of them sitting side by side, hand in hand, starring deeply into each others eyes.

The middle of night. Them looking up at the stars, naming every constellation they could find. Laughing about the previous events from the day, and just enjoying their time together.

Those were Calum's thoughts.

 His secrets.

His dreams.

The one's that were slim to come true. But, hey? It could happen.

If Michael felt the same way, that is.

Calum told me about how his feelings erupted about year 11. The once platinum blonde, held the deepest place in Calum's heart. The place only a significant other could hold.

Michael had been Calum's good friend for a while, and every once in a while, his sexuality would spark confusion in him.

Michael would smile, and Calum's body would heat up. Michael would sing, and Calum's heart would melt.

'The simplest shit, caused the deepest feelings,' he said.

But Calum just passed it off, hoping the strange urges would pass, and he wasn't gay.

But you don't always get what you ask for.

Calum realized he was completely in love with Clifford the night they got lost on a way to a party.

Michael was driving, at maybe 12:00 at night. They planned to stay at the party for an hour or two, and then head home. They wouldn't get caught, because his mom was out on another business trip.

But somewhere along the route, Mike made a wrong turn. They had no earthly idea where they were, and their phones received no service from the area either.

But they weren't afraid; they just drove.

They spent the ride talking about their deepest secrets, and future plans. And Michael sparked the phrase, 'We'll fall in love, hopefully', and Calum knew.

Yes, Michael had been talking about his future wife, but Cal couldn't help but imagine it as himself.

We'll.

Michael and Calum.

Since then, Michael has been his eye candy. And nothing has changed.

Calum told me about the dreams he still has, every once in a while.

The ones of Michael and him. The sweet ones, the sassy ones, and the sad ones.

He never told anyone of his feelings, in beware that Michael would find out, and everything would go downhill from there he said.

Michael would not feel the same way.

I tried to lighten Calum's negative thoughts with the positive thinking of the opposite. But he didn't buy it.

He said he was fine, living the way he does. Secretly admiring the guitarist from a far. It made everything simple.

Just living a lie.

After he said that, I couldn't help but let my thoughts linger on Ashton. Is that what he used to think?

Everything's easier when your living a lie.
