her mind tries to escape

two people, a waterfall
her thoughts begin to shape
seeing how life has played
and though her eyes are fixed upon
the man at her side
her mind has to wonder
and though her eyes are fixed upon
this stranger, his lies
her thoughts are on the blunder
and the direction she has strayed
and though her eyes are fixed upon
the dirty carpet floor
her mind strays outside
and though her eyes are fixed upon
the wooden front door
her thoughts become chide
and she becomes afraid
and though her eyes are fixed upon
a new start at life
her mind still holds her back
and though her eyes are fixed upon
not being his wife
her thoughts keep her on track
and the vows mislaid
and though her eyes are fixed upon
those happier than she
her mind makes her accept
and though her eyes are fixed upon
the dreams that could be
her thoughts they get swept
she turns and she stays
