betrayed and hanged by the army
for a crime she didn't commit, in the end
his love for Esmeralda
kept him constant by her side
until the day of his last breath
when Quasimodo finally died
and 18 months later
when the tomb was opened wide
the two skeletons turned to dust
on the spot where they died
