Jurassic Riverdale

Chapter 1

Gracie's POV

My name is Graceland Grady, but everyone calls me Gracie and sometimes even Grace. So anyway I grew up in Hawaii with my father and my mother. My dad was in the Navy and my mother was a stay at home mom. My dad never talked about his past and where he was from and I didnt really understand at the time. Over the years I grew up with my mother by my side and my father who showed up whenever he could. Though tragedy struck when my mother and I were in a car accident. My mother died on the way to the hospital and I had some bumps and bruises. My dad headed home as fast as he could. He had to give up the Navy to take care of me and for awhile it was just sad and miserable because we had lost someone we loved. Then my dad got a job offer he couldnt refuse mainly because he wanted to leave Hawaii and the pain of losing my mother behind. His job offer was on the island Isla Nublar otherwise known as Jurassic World. I was only 8 years old a girl alittle afraid of Dinosaurs and now Im 16 a girl who now wants be around them at all times. Oh Jurassic World is the place I want to be from now until forever.

"Gracie? Gracie? Gracie!" My father yells.

"What dad?" I questions.

"How many times have I told you to stay out of the Raptor Paddock?" He questions angrily.

"Im not in the paddock." I say.

"Your hand is. You appear to be petting Blue." He says.

"Look I cant help it. You know I have this weird yet unique wonderful bound with her. I cant help it its like she and I are one." I say.

"Grace Im doing this to protect you okay. I know you love Blue and I know you two have a special connection. Just like I know she wont hurt you, but every time you go in there I worry. Im not losing you too. I cant so get your hand out and go do your homeschool homework." He says.

"Fine." I say removing my hand from the cage.

"Thank you." He says.

My dad walked to the upper deck ready for some more raptor training. I heard Blue make a small sound and it was like she wanted me to stay.

"Im sorry Blue. Dad's watching so I have to go, but dont worry I'll be back tonight." I say.

I went into the big enough for two people home my father built around the time we moved here. He always gets mad when I go into the paddock. Especially when I go into Blue's area alone. What can I say? I cant help it if she and I can be in the same place without anyone being hurt. I love Blue. She's not just a dinosaur to me she's like my best friend.

"Grace. Its time for bed." My dad says.

"Already?" I question.

"Yes already. Oh and Gracie I am sorry about earlier." He says.

"I know dad. You just want me safe." I say.

"Yes now go to bed." He says and turned out my light.

It was then about 1am in the morning and I quietly snuck out of the house. I went over to the paddock and did the code to Blue's private area. I went in slowly and closed the door. Blue slowly came over to me and placed her head close to mine. I placed my hand on her nose and looked at her.

"So Blue, how do you think this Narina book ends?" I ask.

I sat down and she laid down beside me as I read the book aloud. Before I knew it I was drifting off and fell asleep. When I awoke I was in my room and I knew my father was pissed. I got up and changed and left my room. I came face to face with a very angry Owen Grady.

"Graceland Michelle Grady, what the hell were you thinking?" He asks oddly calm.

"I just like spending time with her. Okay I know its weird, but she's my friend." I say.

"Grace, she's a dinosaur. Who knows what could of happened." He says.

"Dad you have to..." I say, but he cuts me off.

"No Im not gonna do this again. Gracie, you've did this with Rexy the Tyrannosaurus rex. You have also done this with the other raptors. Sure Blue and you have a unique bond, but this is dangerous. Delta, Charlie, Echo, Rexy, and Blue are all under strict lockdown." He says.

"What? You cant do that." I say.

"I have them all working on it now. If your not with any of the raptors your closing down the T-Rex paddock so you can go inside and be with Rexy. I get it they love you. They wont hurt you, but there has to be limits. Im sorry Grace, but unless I say you can I want you out of their paddocks." He says.

"Dad you cant. Please. I need them. Blue, Rexy, Delta, Charlie, and Echo, they all may be dinosaurs to you and everyone else, but their my friends. Rexy could of eaten me when I fell in her paddock all those years ago, but she didnt. She and I bonded just like me with the raptors. Their my friends you cant take them from me." I say.

"Im sorry Gracie, but from now on if you want to see your friends you must do it while people are around." He says and leaves the house.

I staid inside all day trying to find away to convince my dad I can be okay with them. Something to show him that Im not in danger. Something that will prove my dinosaurs are my friends.

"Dad, great your dad I..." I start, but be stops me.

"I talked to Clair, Barry, and the others they made me see something I didnt realize. You my dear attached yourself to these dinosaurs as your friends because you dont have anyone your age here." He says.

"So this strict lock thing isnt gonna happen and I can be with my dinosaurs again?" I question.

"Well no. Im sending you to my hometown. Its a small town called Riverdale and you'll be living with my old pal kinda like my older brother. His name is FP Jones and he has agreed to take you in to live with him and his son Jughead." He says.

"Excuse me? What?" I question.

"You leave tomorrow morning so start packing. Oh and another thing there are people who dont like the idea of Jurassic World so you cant tell anyone where your from. I told them we just travel alot and I want you to be in a stable home. So get packing." He says and walked out.

Im leaving to live with people I dont know? I cant talk about where Im from? He cant be serious. Could he?

The Next Morning

He was serious cause here I am on the Fairy leaving my home behind. I looked back and my dad and his co-workers all waved goodbye to me. Well this was it Im going to a small town called Riverdale and Im leaving my home and my life behind. So Goodbye Jurassic World. And Hello Riverdale.
