• Avery Collins is beyond frustrated to find herself stuck in the small town of St. Joseph, Michigan with the rest of her family for the sweet summer of 2019. In her new step-father's "vacation house," which consists of three bedrooms and one bath for Avery, her two rowdy and obnoxious nineteen year old brothers, a very dramatic mom, and an unsurprisingly unfunny try-hard new step-father, to be exact
• Augustus "Hudson" Andrews is beyond ecstatic for the best summer ever in his small, beloved town of St. Joseph, Michigan with his close-knit group of friends and his almost-girlfriend. With Ryder, his partner in crime, at his side, and Brit and Kate always three steps behind, Hudson is certain that he has his whole summer planned to a T. Hudson plans on spending fifty percent of the summer at the lake, twenty-five percent of the summer sitting around campfires, and the last twenty-five percent sleeping.
• After Avery Collins and her two older, and very protective, older brothers interrupt Hudson's perfect summer, everything changes. Hudson is forced to make big decisions, that includes facing not only his past, but his future as well.
• But if a lot can happen in just one day, there is sure a hell of a lot that can happen in an entire summer.
