A Script for a play in English Class

Part 1

Angelo: "I heard the Japanese attacked Zamboanga"

Vicente: "It is not impossible that they will attack Surigao too. We are still not able to recover after the war between the Americans and Spaniards, then other foreigners are threatening the land"

Angelo: "My father gave his life for this temporary freedom"

Ricardo: "Señor Vicente, your farmers" looks at the audience "are looking for you outside"

Angelo: "Go ahead señor, I'll wait here"

Vicente: "have a snack, I'll be back soon. Where's the juice?" he looks at the audience "these farmers will surely borrow money again" then he walked out to the direction of the audience and Ricardo waited for few seconds before he followed Vicente. "Who hasn't paid his debt yet?"

Ricardo points to an audience

Ricardo: "Him! Señor" then they are gone

Juliana came bringing the juice then she stopped when she didn't saw Señor Vicente. She walks slowly then placed the juice.

Angelo: "Thank---Juliana? Is that you Juliana? The little naughty kid of maestro, Juliana?"

Juliana: She faced him "as expected, you could easily recognize me, Angelo. You always bully me back in the days, you are the naughty one!" she stood there awkwardly

Angelo: he frowned "What are you doing on here?"

Juliana: "I work here" she smiled wryly

Angelo: "How could?" he extended his hand "Sit here let's talk"

Juliana: "You don't want to hear it, Angelo"

Angelo: "I want to know and besides your father is like a father to me too"

Juliana: "And that's the reason that I don't want you to know" he stood up and took her hands

Angelo: "Juliana, I will not judge you"

Juliana: "That's comforting" she bit her lower lip to stop from being emotional

Angelo: "No, listen. Talk to me, I'm here"

Juliana: "I already sold my body in this place, I don't want you to pity me. Seeing someone familiar is comforting but also a torture" she distanced herself "But thank you for caring"

Ricardo arrived with a basket on his arms

Ricardo: Talking to the Audience "A smile as sweet as honey, lips as red as Makupa I wonder what it feels to have her nestled in my arms" he then called her "Juliana!" Angelo and Juliana both looked at Ricardo "Señor wants you to prepare these vegetables, I'll carry this to the kitchen for you"

Mariana: "Father! Is there no letter for me?"

Joselito: "My child, how many times have you asked me this question this day?"

Mariana: "Countless!" she swirled

Joselito: "You truly liked him!"

Mariana: "Of course father!" Joselito took a letter out of his pocket "A letter for me!"

Joselito: "He is a fine man, owning lands in San Miguel and Carmen at a young age"

Mariana: "He does?" she faced the audience "I only saw him once but he already captivated my heart! And how lucky I would be if I marry him!"

Joselito: "You should get married to him, Mariana. You will never be hungry when you're with him"

Mariana: "Married to him? Such thought never came to me! But-but if it does!" she grabbed her father "Is it possible, father?"
