A Script for a play in English Class

Part 1

Juliana: "I'm Juliana I just came here last month" she stood up then faced the audience. "I-I have no one to take care me back at home, my impoverish family has a huge debt with señor Vicente and I'm here to-to pay him" she looked down. She turns her head to Berlinda "You must be tired, you should take a rest"

Berlinda: "I am not tired anymore" she smiled

Vicente: "Juliana!"

Juliana: "Yes, Señor?"

Vicente: "I will entrust you with teaching Berlinda how this establishment works" she nodded "and I have a guest that will arrive this afternoon, clean everything"

Berlinda & Juliana: "yes señor"

Ricardo: "Señor, there are people who are looking for you outside. They brought sacks of rice with them." Ricardo's face is on Juliana

Vicente: "He arrived too early. Go and let him in!" Ricardo dashed outside

Ricardo: "Come Señorito, Señor Vicente is waiting for you upstairs"

To Juliana's surprise she saw Angelo coming in, she hid her face

Juliana: she spoke to the audience "That can't be Angelo, right? The Cabeza de Barangay's 2nd son"

Berlinda: "Oh dear Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! What a dashing young man!" Berlinda squealed "Juliana don't hide your face and look at the sweet Turon in front of you!"

Juliana: "shsss...Behave yourself!" Berlinda chuckled

Angelo: "Señor Vicente!"

Vicente: "Señorito Angelo! What a pleasant surprise! You have arrived earlier!"

Angelo: "The delivery of harvested rice cannot be delayed so we have to travel earlier"

Vicente: "Dodong, you look good. Look how fast you grew up! I can barely recognize you!" (Dodong means boy in Bisaya)

Juliana: "I knew him, we were neighbors back in my hometown"

Berlinda: "What a fated reunion you have!" teasing her "oh!" then she realized something "oh.... It's not that fortunate"

Juliana: "I know, I need to hide" she walk away

Berlinda: "Wait-"

Angelo: "Thank you, señor.... You on the other hand looks...." Vicente placed his hands on his waist "you look old" then he laughed

Vicente: "You're still naughty." Then he called "Inday!" (Inday means girl in Bisaya)

Berlinda: "yes señor?"

Vicente: "Where's Jul-"

Berlinda: "She's cleaning somewhere" she fidgeted

Vicente: "Tell her to prepare refreshments, she knows where it was placed and find the cook he must be gambling right now"

Berlinda: "Affirmative señor" then she left

Vicente: "Have a sit Angelo, traveling is tiring" they both sat

Berlinda: "Juliana, señor wants you to prepare refreshments"

Juliana: "Can you do it for me?"

Berlinda: "I could if he is not running me with another errand" Juliana rubbed her forehead

Juliana: "Go, do it now the señor hates delays"

Berlinda: "I'm sorry"

Juliana took the Biko and gently placed it in front of them.

Juliana breathe freely when Angelo didn't recognize her and then she left quietly.
