I wonder if he saw that? I hope he did, and at the same time I severely hope he didn't.

He needed to though. I don't want to hurt him, but I have to. I pull away from Brandon and glance down at the shiny object in his fist.

He notices where I'm looking and he opens the silver blade in his hand, flipping it in the air and catching it.

"You made the right choice, Bethany. Poor Devin wouldn't be so 'perfect' with his insides on the outside." He says, bending down and placing a kiss on my cheek.

"Besides, it's all for the best anyway. You can't be seen breaking up with me. And I think that Devon is much safer when we're together. You are too, by the way." He smiles and brushes the tip of the knife lightly up and down my arm, scratching my skin without breaking the surface.

I shiver and a lone tear falls down my cheek. "You have to promise not to hurt him. Leave him alone, and it'll be just like before. I promise. We can pretend it never happened."

He chuckles and leans down to whisper in my ear, "I think you owe me a little more than that, sweetheart. I think that maybe we should hang out at my house today. My parents won't be home, and we can stay there for a while. Alone. It'll be something I don't think you'll forget. And maybe we can finally give you a reason to stay with me.."

I stiffen and pull away from him. "No. No way, Brandon. I didn't put out before, and I won't now."

His smile slips from his face and he grabs my arm tightly. "Yes, you will. If you want so badly to protect your little friend Devon, then we do what I say. And if that's not enough persuasion for you, we can give you a few scars to marr that flawless skin of yours. We will go to my house today. And you will do what I say when we get there. Understood?"

The smile returns as he sees the fear in my eyes. "Good. It's settled then. I'll see you after school and we can go hang out at my place for a few hours." He grabs my and pulls me forward, placing a firm and passionate kiss on my lips.

Then he pulls away and walks out of the room.

"No, please." I whisper, but he's already gone.
