Eddy seemed to be gaining on you, but Ed showed no sign of stopping whatsoever.
"No more bad, Eddy!"
"Get back here, Lumpy!"
Anxiety filled within you. What was he going to do that Ed didn't want him to? And would he ever catch up to us?
Eddy began slowing down from exhaustion and put his hands onto his kneecaps. The fact that Ed didn't even look tired at all surprised you. But that wasn't the point. We needed a place to hide; somewhere to lay low.
"Ed, where are you taking me? Eddy won't stay like that forever!"
Ed stopped dead center as if it took no effort to stop at the speed he was running. Sweat began dripping down your forehead from nervousness, but Ed just smiled.
"Let's go to Double Dee's! He's as kind as cuddly little chicken."
You trusted Ed, but the fact that he thought Edd was a kind guy made you even more paranoid.
"Ed, how about we just-"
He suddenly turned around and ran straight towards a wooden fence. Your eyes widened and you screamed whilst covering you head. You felt a great force throw you up in the air, and as you opened your eyes, it felt as though the world had just stopped right then and there. You felt gravity take place, and your body began being pulled down. Nothing could escape your lips, not even a scream. Not even a simple gasp. Your whole body had been frozen from the inside-out. It was as if the whole world had lost its' sound, or that you had gone deaf in that moment in time. All the sounds were comepletely gone. Until your weightless body had fallen into Ed's arms.
You looked at him in fear and held onto his green jacket tightly.
"Ed, w-what the hell?!"
He had an expression that worried you. A serious expression. His unibrow was furrowed, as if he was deeply concentrated. And his eyes had great focus in them. You felt safe, and it felt good. This emotion hasn't been felt in so long. You longed for this feeling, and patience has rewarded.
Tears threatened to escape your eyes. This night has been a complete disaster from the start, but you felt a sense of relief wash over you as Ed ran to Edd's house. Although people said he was an idiot, you felt as if people were just mistaken. Ed was smarter than he looked.
We took the odvious way to his house. You glanced over at your front door, and surprisingly your dad hadn't come out to search for you. You started to question if he even had gotten into that bedroom at all.
As Ed reached Edd's door, he didn't even bother knocking. He kicked open the door and shut it behind him, as well as locking the door. The living room lamp was turned on. You looked around his living room. Everything was neat and modern looking. It smelled nice too. Like you just walked into a beautiful pine forest.
While still stuck in a trance by the decor, Ed grabbed your hand and led you upstairs. He then kicked open his door. He seemed to have a habit of destruction, since he kept kicking open doors. Your eyes widened by the picture presented to you. Your cheeks felt hot as you covered your eyes in retaliation.
"Ed, don't youz know outta knock?"
"Double Dee, this poor little unicorn duckling can no longer fly! We need to raise it as if one of our children!"
There was a long period of silence, or at least it seemed that way.
"Youz don't have to cover your eyes, tootz. I'mz only shirtless."
You slowly let your hand down and looked over towards him. You quickly took yourself aback and looked towards the wall in embarrassment. A sigh escaped from his mouth.
"So Ed, you sayin'z I needz tah take care of 'er?"
He nodded as Edd looked at you and smiled. He licked his teeth, running it through the gap in his teeth as well.
"This outta be fun."
You looked at him in fear, and suddenly, your feeling of relief and safety had completely diminished.
"Yay, sleepover!"
He engulfed Edd into a hug, yet never took his eyes off of me. That evil grin still hung onto his face. At this point you'd rather take your chances at home. This was going to be one hell of an adjustment.
