Ed set you down against the fence and backed away. Eddy smiled and ran a hand through his hair. You looked at Double Dee, who was eyeing you in the corner of his eye. Eddy walked over to you.
"Eddy. We can't stay here long. The neighborhood is probably out searching by now."
That was the first time Double Dee spoke, which surprised you.
"Shut it, sockhead."
Eddy put his hand next your head and got in your face. You looked away with disgust.
"So, here's the deal tutz. I want you to be in our group."
You were surprised by this sudden question, but angered too. He kidnapped you against your will and hurt your friends just to ask you this? Why would you want to be apart of this group anyways? They seem like bad people. And lord knows what would happen if your father found out.
"No. Can I leave now?"
He backed away and frowned.
"What?"
You looked down and frowned.
"Can I go now, please? I need to get home."
Eddy crossed his arms.
"Why won't you join us? We rarely ask others to join."
"Why would I? You kidnapped me and the whole damn neighborhood is scared of you."
"Exactly. Don't you want to be feared?"
You looked at him with anger.
"That's the last thing I want."
Eddy grumbled and grabbed your wrist. You screamed from the pain and he immediately backed away.
"Eddy, the other kids probably heard that. We really should get going."
You held your wrist and tears swelled in your eyes. Eddy looked at you with anger. You wiped your eyes with your sleeve and felt the frustration bottling up inside you.
"Why the hell do you scream everytime I grab your wrist?"
He grabbed your hand and tried to roll up your sleeves. You immediately kicked his knee and he yelled. Now was your chance. You quickly got up and started running down the lane.
As soon as you ran around the corner, you looked around for a place to hide. You could hear voices getting closer.
"Shit! Where do I-"
Out of no where, somebody had grabbed you and covered your mouth. You screamed and kicked with your eyes squeezed shut. It pulled you into somewhere unknown.
"Stop kicking me, I'm trying to help you!"
You recognized that voice. It was Double Dee. Why would he help you? You opened your eyes and Double Dee was looking away. He had your mouth covered and was holding you against him. You looked around and realised you were behind the fence. How did he do that? You looked at the fence and noticed that there was a loose board.
Footsteps and voices came from the other side of the fence.
"I don't she likes you Eddy."
"Shut it and keep looking for that twerp! I'll make her pay!"
The footsteps ran off in the direction you were originally going to go, until they finally faded. Nothing but silence. We stood there for a moment until Double Dee finally let you go.
"Your welcome for saving your ass."
You looked at him with confusion.
"Why did you save me?"
He walked towards the loose board and looked at you.
"I know how Eddy can be."
His eyes were cold and harsh, but he seemed nice.
"W-When will he leave me alone?"
He shrugged.
"Just stay inside for about a week or so. He should give up by then. Don't let him lure you out."
You frowned. The last thing you wanted was to go back. In fact, you'd rather face the wrath of Eddy than have to go back. He squinted his eyes at you.
"What's the matter with you?"
You stayed silent and grabbed your wrist gently while looking away. He looked at your wrist then at you. He then walked towards you and held his hand out.
"Let me see your wrist."
You shook your head and backed away. He kept his cold glare on you.
"I wasn't asking."
He got closer to you which scared you. You turned around quickly to try and run, but he grabbed the back of your hoodie and pulled you closer to him. He then grabbed your sleeves and pulled them down, his eyes widening. You pushed him off and backed away, trying to cover your arms. Black and purple bruises covered your arms. There were rope burns and scars on your wrists. You immediately pulled down your sleeves. Tears swelled your eyes.
Double Dee stood there silently looking at the ground. You looked away in embarrassment, but it soon turned into anger.
He doesn't know anything about me, nor will he ever.
"Stay the hell away from me."
You walked past him and pushed open the loose fence board. You walked in the direction that Ed and Eddy ran, trying to make it back home. Even if you never wanted to go back, what choice did you have?
