~Jack~

She was as beautiful in his dream as she was in real life. He had dreamt about Pepper for the third time in a row. This time she was lying in his arms with Star Trek playing on the big screen TV in his living room. The worst part: She got up and left, waking him up.

That was what Jack was thinking about during third period history. The only class Jack had with her. Pepper was going to be a problem if she kept looking the way she did last night and this morning. Her brown hair was disheveled, like she hadn't slept the night before but her green eyes were bright, egger. Jack didn't like her in that way, or so he kept telling himself.

"Jack Hendrix, would you like to share your thoughts with the rest of the class?" Mr. Murphy asked breaking through his thoughts. Jack blushed more then he would have liked to.

"No sir, I have nothing to share with the class." He replied with the well known Jack Hendrix confidence.

"Well would you like to answer the question?" Mr. Murphy asked with a smirk

"Which would be?"

"Well, I guess popularity isn't everything" He said laughing, Jack just blushed more. "The question Jack, was: What is Zeus's roman counterpart?"

"Romulus" It was the first name that came to his mind and it sounded roman enough. Peppers hand shot up

"Zeus's Roman counterpart is Jupiter" She said making Mr. Murphy nod vigorously

"Mr. Hendrix and Ms. Keroll please see me after class." He said and resumed the lesson.

Thirty minutes later Jack and Pepper were standing in front of Mr. Murphy's desk.

"Mr. Hendrix allow me to be bold." Jack nodded "You're going to fail this class, unless you get help." He turns to Pepper "This is where you come in" Pepper grew stiff next to me "Would you be willing to tutor Mr. Hendrix?" hope swelled in Jack's chest.

I could feel her eyes on me- those green eyes. "I suppose I could arrange something" Jack looked down at her in surprise. "Would you be willing to meet me after school today to schedule?" Jack wanted to even if he could say no to her.

"If I have to" that didn't come out right he shamed himself

"Well if you want some chance at passing, I'd recommend it." She snapped. Pepper had good reason to hate him, every time he was around her he became a jerk.

Lunch came and passed, so did Jacks other classes, all he could think about was his date. It wasn't an actual date, but Jack was determined to make the best out of it.

Jack had time alone with Pepper, and that's all that mattered to him.

**********************************************************************************The "date" Didn't go exactly as Jack had planned it. Pepper didn't stop talking about the Greeks long enough for him to talk to her. He had to retake the quiz from class after she had lectured him about the Greek gods and the Roman gods. Pepper didn't seem to be feeling very good ether, she was slouched in a chair and Jack had to do most of the writing because her hands looked shaky.

They decided to meet every day on even weeks, and then the day before a test every on the odd weeks. Jack didn't think he needed that much help but he still couldn't say no to Pepper. All he really wanted to do was go home and play video games, or watch a movie.

"Jack, are you listening to me?" Pepper asked. Jack just nodded afraid he was going to say something rude. "What were we talking about then?" her face expected him to be wrong.

"You were telling me how Romulus and Remus were born, and I was about to ask if you if we could save this for tomorrow." Pepper raised her eyebrows

"I guess you were listening." She said quietly "We can stop now if you want." She added, answering Jacks question.

Jack got up and got his back-pack "I guess I'll leave then." She nodded

"Okay" she opened the door for me and I left "Oh, Jack" my heart quickened "I'll be at your house a little late tomorrow. I've got a doctor's appointment." Jack nodded and left.
