~Pepper~
High school: drugs, bullying, kids who've been held back five years due to bad math grades and being a sophomore didn't change any of that. Pepper had woken up to late and hadn't been able to be too picky as to what she looked like. This is really going to help the bullying she thought as she walked into the crowded, stinking hall. There were cheerleaders at the doors waiting to great her.
"Welcome to Cedarwood High" one of them said "Are you new here?" typical Pepper thought
"This is actually my second year" She said "I write-"
"Oh" another one sneered "Well get out of the way so we can great the freshmen"
Pepper shrugged it off pretty easily, she had tried to introduce herself to the cheerleaders last year but now she just didn't care. Pepper walked further into the crowd, it didn't get any better. Jack was with the rest of the football team being loud and obnoxious as usual. Well something's never change Pepper thought, although she noticed Jack looking at her. She convinced herself it was nothing by the time she arrived at her first class.
~Jack~
"Dude you can't honestly like her?" Eric asked
"No of course I don't" Jack retorted, He had paused when Pepper walked by. She was beautiful, but Jack would never have told any of his friends he thought that.
"Then why were you checking her out, do you think we're stupid?" Jack did, in fact think they were stupid, and this burst of deductive energy was amazing.
"I was not checking her out" Jacks mind was racing "Courtney and Beth were teasing her"
"And sense when did Jack Hendrix care if Courtney and Beth were joking around with one of the science geeks" Jack felt himself wince at the word "geek"
"Forget it, we should get to class" he replied trying to drop the subject.
"Hey Jack" one of the freshmen girls said winking. This is going to be a long year Jack thought sitting down in his first class.

It was lunch at last, with history right afterwards. All I've got to do is make it through lunch she told herself as she ate her Nutella sandwich. She took out one of the extra notebooks her mom got and started writing.
I ran faster, trying to catch up to marks horse.
"Come on Rosie, don't be so slow" He yelled back at me. I lay down in the cool grass and waited for him to come get me.
"Mark, come get me I'm tired" I smoothed my dress and sat up. Mark hopped down from his horse and
"What're you doing?" Jack asked from behind Pepper. She jumped and hid the notebook she'd been working in.
"Why do you care?" She snapped ignoring Jacks hand on her back.
"Why would I not care?" That comment surprised Pepper "Can I read it?" he asked somehow taking the book from Pepper.
"I- how'd you- I don't" Pepper continued stuttering and mumbling while Jack read.
"Not bad" he said closing the notebook "You write a lot?" Pepper nodded trying to gather her wits
"Yeah I'm actually-"
"That's great, now I should go before someone of importance see's me talking to you" He said and strutted away. Jerk Pepper thought and continued writing.
