Chapter 31

Brent's POV

When Shawn started playing, I knew that I had to do it. I have to ask Mel to be my girlfriend.

While we were dancing, I could hear her humming the words. She's perfect. This moment is perfect. It's now or never.

"So I have a question for you.." I said shaking. She can tell I'm nervous.

"What is it? You know you can tell me anything," she told me looking into my eyes with her amazing blue eyes that could just make you melt.

"Uh.. Uh. This is harder then I thought.." Maybe I shouldn't ask her.

"C'mon Brent. Tell me." She said with her puppy-dog eyes. Ugh. Why is she so perfect?

I felt awkward and sweaty. But then I heard the words slip out. "Okay. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Melanie's POV

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

I nodded and hugged Brent tighter then I ever did before.

"How long have you been planning this?" I asked him after our hug.

"I was gonna ask you at your birthday party but it was too early plus Luke showed up," he said helping me sit down. "Then I was going to do it the day after but you know, the crash happened. So I took it as a sign. I decided to wait until we became closer, which we did."

"You're so sweet," I said pinching his check.

"Giirrrlll, I know MMHMMMM," he said just like the vine he made. I love it so much!

"I'll be right back," I said to Brent getting up. "Running low on s'mores."

"I'll help," he said.

"That's okay. I have Jess," I told him.

Jess came inside with me and I just screamed. I needed a fangirl moment.

I mean the Magcon guys are here and I still don't remember ever meeting them, THE Brent Rivera just asked me to be his girlfriend, which millions of girls want to be. I went inside so the guys didn't think I was weird screaming.

Jess and I grabbed the rest of the s'mores stuff then went back outside.

I grabbed another movie because I overheard that the guys were gonna go night swimming and I figured that the girls would want to do something else.

By the time we were back out, the guys were already in the pool.

I put on 'Saving Mr. Banks' for us girls to watch and if the guys wanted to watch it too.

In the middle of the movie, Hayes, Nash, and Carter snuck up behind us and threw Jessica, Emma, and Amber in the pool.

Jess came above water and grabbed Hayes from his ankles and dragged him into the pool.

I'm pretty sure I saw some underwater kissing because they came back up looking deep into each other's eyes, like they were the only two people in the world.

How can my younger sister have a boyfriend the same time I have one? Kids these days.

Amber and Emma just gave Carter and Nash a dirty look but ended up laughing mainly because they pulled the boys in with them.

By 11:30 the movie was over and everyone, except Brent and I, was in the pool.

I had my music playing softly then 'She Looks So Perfect' by 5 Seconds of Summer came on.

"So.. Would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow?" Brent asked me.

"Where would we be going?" I asked him smiling.

"Shhhh. It's a surprise," he said winking at me.

I was about to say something when Jack & Jack picked up Brent and threw him in the pool.

When he surfaced, I met him at the edge and said "So is that a yes?"

"Of course it is, silly," I said giggling.
