Chapter 2

Melanie's POV

I almost fell down when Jessica said that.

Dad saw the look on his face and he started talking," That doesn't mean anything, honey. Everyone buys houses in East Bridgewater."

"He's right,Mel. I'm sorry I didn't mean to get your hopes up,"Jessica said.

"That's fine," I said sadly,"I'm going to take a shower before dinner."

With that, I went upstairs for a shower.

Jessica's POV

"Why would you do that?" dad asked me when he heard the water start for Mel's shower.

"Sorry," I started. "I thought she knew."

"I was going to try and keep her away from that house until her 16th birthday," he said.

I was confused so I asked him why.

"Don't tell her but the Rivera's did buy that house. I knew how much she likes that kid-" "Dad, she doesn't 'like' him. She's obsessed with him," I said to him.

"Whatever. But don't bring it up again, ok?"

"Ok," I told him and went upstairs.

Brent's POV

"Honey, wake up," my mom said shanking me to get up.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"A half hour before we land in Boston," she told me.

That's upsetting. I thought that moving was just a bad dream.

"I didn't even know I fell asleep," I said yawning.

My mom just laughed and continued with her book.

This wouldn't be happening if mom just had to work for her stupid company I thought to myself.

"Dude," Brice,my brother, said poking the back of my head,"you're lucky mom just put her headphones in or else she would have killed you."

Oops, I thought that was in my head. "Ok, ok, just leave me alone," I said annoyed. I got magazine and pretended to read it so Brice would get the hint to leave me alone.

I'm scared that everyone in my new school won't get all crazy just because of who I am. I tried to stop thinking about it when the pilot said we were about to land in Boston.

I think my mom could read the look on my face because she took my hand and held it while we were landing.
