I sighed as I pulled into the Gilbert driveway.I was not ready to face them yet. I had abruptly left without an explanation. Now or never, I thought. I got out of my car and got my bags out of the trunk of it. I walked up to the front door of the big, white house and searched the Welcome mat for the spare key. I found it and unlocked the door. I stepped inside. "Okay, no one's home," I mumbled as I blew my long, curly, brown locks away from my face. I trudged up the stairs to the spare bedroom and pushed open the door. The room was a bit girly, but small. I liked it. I set my stuff down and jogged down the stairs. I knew where everyone was. They were always at the Grill.

I shut and locked the front door and then jumped into my car, started it, and started towards the Grill. I sighed and ran my hands subconsciously through my hair. I haven't seen my cousins in three years. They were like family, though. I got out of my car and headed inside. Everyone stared at me as I walked in. I looked up and shrugged my shoulders. I scanned the crowd, looking for Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie. They were my best friends whenever I came to visit my cousins, Elena and Jeremy. I located them in the back with a couple of guys who looked vaguely familiar. One had black hair and blue eyes while the other one had brown hair and green eyes.

Elena looked up to see what everyone at her table was staring at. Once I caught her eye I smiled. "Oh my god, Dessie!" She screamed and ran to give me a hug with Caroline and Bonnie close behind her. The two guys followed them. The black-haired one looked extremely familiar to me now. "Hey, Lena," I laughed lightly and Bonnie and Caroline enveloped me in hugs too. I kept looking at the dark-haired one. I know I know him from somewhere, I just know it! Elena noticed my gaze and brought the boys forth. "Destiny, this is Stefan and Damon Salvatore." I nodded at them and then I saw Matt saw us.

"Hey, Destiny!" He called out and I waved. "Hey, Matt! Could you get me a bottle of Bourbon?" I asked and he smiled, knowing it was my favorite. "Sure thing, Des." I smiled at the old nickname. I practically lived here three years ago. I was suddenly engulfed in memory.

I was running in the woods of Mystic Falls. I didn't know why, but I knew I had to get away from this man. I stopped briefly, to catch my breath. I was hit from behind and I hit a tree. "I told you that you couldn't run from me!" Klaus hissed and then he bit into my neck. I screamed and thrashed against him, but he wouldn't relent. Eventually, I was drained of blood and lay lifeless against the cold forest floor. Klaus wiped his chin with the back of his hand and kissed my forehead before running off, leaving me there. That was the first time I died. I just can't seem to die. I think it has something to do with the fact that my parents spelled me when I was born. Who knows?

I gasped as I came back to the land of the living. "Hey, Des, are you okay?" Elena asked as Matt came over with my bottle. "Thanks," I mumbled and opened the cap. I was suddenly very drained and tired. I sagged in exhaustion and Elena barely caught me. I knew what was happening. "Elena get out of here and away from me." I growled and she stepped back a step, but then stepped back to help me. "No, Des, please, are you okay?" She asked and she touched me, which made me fly backwards. It was happening faster now.

I took off out of the Grill. I ran off towards the woods and leaned against a tree and it took me a second to realize that I was at the site of my first death. I heard pounding footsteps and froze. They couldn't find me, not like this. Damon appeared first, staring at my trembling form. The others soon came after. Shots were fired at me. "I knew I would find you sooner or later, Destiny Gilbert." Klaus came strutting up and shot me in the leg.

"Leave her alone, Klaus," Caroline ordered and he glanced at her, but them focused his attention back to me. "It is happening again, isn't it?" He asked and I glared at him. I suddenly felt really calm. "Yeah, but I am much more different than I was three years ago, Klaus. I am much stronger. And you know what? I am sick and tired of hearing your bull shit!" I screamed and thrust my hands out, some force making him fall to the ground and scream out in pain. I tore a branch from the tree behind me and shoved it through his heart. That'll hold him at least for a few hours, I thought.

I rose from the ground and wiped my hands on Klaus' crisp, white shirt. My phone started ringing. "Hello?" I answered, holding the phone up to my ear. "Is it done?" Katherine asked. "He should be out for a couple hours at the most." I answered. "Good, now, you can do your thing." Katherine said, obviously hurrying me along. "Love you too, K." I said sarcastically and she laughed lightly. "Love you, Des." I ended the call. I shoved the phone back in my pocket and stood  against the tree. I took out a knife from my pocket. Everyone had their eyes on me. Elena had tears running down her cheeks. Damon looked distrusting and Stefan looked like he just didn't care either way.

Caroline was looking at me in horror and Bonnie was looking at me with...understanding? "You're one of them, aren't you?" she asked and my heart rate sped up. "Who is them?" I asked and she gave me a look. "Are you a Guardian?" She asked and I nodded. "And it is time for me to die," I stated, slashing my neck open and falling to the ground.
