Zombie Walk
By J. Lynne Moore
(04/01/19)

Flesh breaks down;
As tears fill the sea.
Dawn a useless smile,
His voice whispers to me.

Free will suspended,
By longing and sorrow;
Lend me your hand,
Drag me through tomorrow.

Cracks in the firmament,
Shed a hopeful light.
As grains of sand fall,
Faith delivers respite.

Though the zombie walk,
Rolls on, night and day;
The bitter taste of loss,
Mutes and fades away.
