A/N: this is my very first fanfic so please give me constructive criticism. Also, this book will contain trigger warnings. Anytime there is one I will put this:⚠️ in front of it. And please don't be scared to give me advise on my writing when I need it.

Y/N POV

My first day of teaching at Hamilton Jr High is today. I get up and take a shower. Once I'm done getting ready I eat breakfast.

I look at my clock.

"6:15! Already."

I grab my keys and leave my apartment. I stop to get some coffee.

Once I arrive at the school im a little skeptical. I've always hated being new. I walk into the school expecting to be the odd teacher but I was warmly welcomed by the principle, Mr. Washington, and shown to my classroom.

The kids were pretty good and treated me like i have been teaching them for years. I felt very welcome.

After the day was over, I was sitting in my room grading papers we did in class today. I was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Its open."

A group of 8 people walk into my room. They all are smiling and seem very kind. A girl that looks about my age starts to speak.

"Hi," she said with a huge smile.

"Hi," I reply, trying to look kind and not scare them away like I normally do.

"Hi, I'm Jasmine but you can call me jazz or jazzy. This is my best friend, Phillipa. You can call her Pippa," she points the woman next to her. "This is Renee," she points to the other woman standing next to her. She introduced me to everyone. Lin, Pippa, Renee, Anthony, Jonathan, Daveed, Oak, and her. We all talked a bit and I told them about myself. Everybody was very nice. They were all very talkative except Lin. He looked nervous and kinda off in his own world.

Once they all left, I sighed. I hate meeting new people but they all seemed super nice.

I walk out of my classroom and go to my car. When I was walking, I saw Lin going to his car. He was parked right next to me. He saw that I was walking the same way he started to walk faster. I just shrugged it off.

Once I get to my apartment I sit on my couch and look through my movies. I chose my favorite movie, The Little Mermaid. Once I started it, my stomach growled. I pause the movie and looked for food in my kitchen. I made a grilled cheese and went to the couch. I unpause the movies. Once I finished my food and accidentally fell asleep.
