Looking around she realised it was her grandparents there, her mum, sister, stepdad, little brother, Mia. All the people she cared about, crying and sobbing their hearts out, their arms around each other. Then there was Glen's parents to her left, his brother and even Luke, Danny and Mark standing not too far away from them. To her right there was Catherine being consoled by a sobbing William, Harry had Meghan in his arms in a similar state. A few other friends of her, such as James, Pippa, Carole, Michael and a few more were all there, crying, taking glances in the direction of the room they'd come from and she was being reanimated.
And then her eyes fell on the man she loved more than life itself, sitting on the floor. Crying, sobbing whilst cradling their five-year-old son in his arms. He too was crying, bawling inconsolably. Walking up to them she crouched beside them, her hand resting on Glen's shoulder and his head turned to look in her direction. Reaching out, she cupped the back of her son's head. "Little one, there's no need to cry, I'm right here." She whispered but as the warmth neared her back, she realised the being had moved closer.
"Are you ready to give this all up? The people you care about? Your future husband, your son?" He asked her, his own hand on her shoulder as she started to shake her head, whilst gazing into the eyes of Glen, but it felt more like he was looking through her.
"Your brothers, they've already lost someone they care about greatly." the voice explained as she turned to look at William and Harry. And near them in the distance, she could see another glowing figure appear, unlike the entity, this one had a face. And it was the face of said person they'd already lost.
"Your Royal Highness." Kate greeted Princess Diana stood in front of her. She still looked as young as the day she'd died. "None of that, you've been accepted by my sons as a sister and I would have accepted you as a daughter if I had the chance to meet you. You're just what I imagined what my daughter would have been like. Feisty, intelligent, brave, kind, compassionate, caring and a huge heart. And of course the ability to keep my boys in check and give them a kick up the bum if need be." Diana told her as Kate let out a small chuckle before she nodded her head a little. It reminded her of all the times she'd had with her brothers, she truly loved them as her brothers.
"You have to go back hunny. To them, to your own little boy, don't let Arthur feel and endure what my sons went through. He needs his mother more than anything. Continue to keep my boys in check and you'll see, in the future, you'll join them soon enough in all of their causes you share. The three of you are able to get many great things done. But it's time to go back if you want that. Don't let your future husband know what it's like to live a life without his soul mate." Diana explained to her as Kate softly nodded her head whilst looking around at all the people there for her. Looking back at Glen and Arthur whom she was still stood beside, she crouched back down, cupping Glen's cheek in her hand. And it was as if he could feel her again, his face leaning into her hand the tiniest bit, his eyes looking through her once more.
"You have to decide Kate, the road won't be easy if you go back. It's going to be hard to recover from all you've endured through this. But you've got all the people right here in order to get through it." The faceless entity explained to her as she nodded her head when was something easy in life.
"I want to go back, I can't leave Arthur and Glen, I can't leave all these people. I can't leave my boys." She told them, realising what was going on, tears starting to stream down her cheeks.
Her grandparents were crying together, heartbroken and she knew it would break them if she died. She couldn't do this to them either, they'd been through so much already. Looking at most of her friends there, so many still back at home. She couldn't leave them all behind, she wasn't done yet, she wasn't ready to be dead yet. Going around the room, she rested a hand on an arm or gave someone like Catherine a kiss on the cheek. Maybe she imagined it, but all of them seemed to stop and look around when she touched them.
