They say people tend to be honest and confident to share at night when they are tired.

Till now, that was just another quote I read somewhere, but today I can confirm it with all my heart.

I am a hundred percent sure that if I was in my right mind, I'd never do what I did last night.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I was dreading for the awkward conversation that is due when Derek is going to wake up.

Derek feels like a weird name.

Concentrate, Mia.

I have thought about the upcoming conversation many times since I woke up but I still couldn't think of anything to say to him.

I look at the couch and see a smiling Derek already staring at me.

"How long have you looking at me?"

"Since you started daydreaming," he say chuckling.

"I am serious," I pout.

"It's been less than a minute." he says and yawns as he sits up and stretches.

"About last night-," I begin to say but he cuts me off saying, "How about I get ready and we talk outside while having some breakfast. I'm starving."

"Okay. Good with me."

Before I finish, he sprints towards the restroom. I guess I'm alone for now.

The anxious thoughts come back and I'm once again left alone with thinking endless possibilities like: Who is he? Why am I trusting him so easily? What if he's a serial killer?

Ugh Mia!! You had only one task: to go to bed and sleep, but no, you had to embarrass yourself by going to him and sleeping with him.

Well not technically but,  wait .....  technically yes but you know what I mean.

Just sleeping not doing anything else.

Ugh, that still sounds wrong.

Before I go crazy I decide to take my phone out, and after putting the password of hotel wifi, I check my social media.

Time passes on quickly and in a couple of minutes Derek comes out all ready.

"Woah. That was fast."

"Obviously, I'm a guy. I don't take hours getting ready like girls."

"What did you just say?," I say getting up, coming face to face with him and putting my hands in my hips.

"Not all girls are like that and some boys take hours to get ready too. You guys have made this stereotype about girls and don't wanna deny now."

He puts his hands up in defense. "I was just saying, and I admit not all girls are like that. Let's just go."

Once we are close to hotel lobby, we realise that we don't know about any good place for breakfast, or any place in this city.

We decide to ask the reception guy and he tells us about a diner down the road.

We go there and it's actually a nice place. Both of us order pancakes and coffee and wait for our order.

"So let's start from the scratch. I'm Derek Miles, second year college student who just missed the chance to attend his brother's wedding."

"I'm Mia Wilkins, taking this flight to go to the college, going far from home by choice because I want to start over." I say and then frown, "you really missed your brother's wedding."

"Well, I'm because it is happening right now. But I figured that I can't do anything about it so as well not sulk about it."

"Yeah, that's true. But if it was me I'd be sulking around and screaming at anyone who crossed my path." I say as a waitress brings our food.

"Lucky you."

Leaning over the food he says, "Well Mia, you want to start over and I just missed an important event. Let's make a deal. How about we become partners or friends for a while and explore this city together?"

Well, after leaving everything behind this does sounds like a good deal. I put my hand out for handshake and say, "Deal."
