The sun lifted itself up over the ocean as Hiccup went to sit outside with Toothless. He leaned back onto Toothless. It had been a while since they had seen a hunter ship after Dagur went missing, so Hiccup could sit back, relax and enjoy the sunrise. Hiccup looked around for a moment. It was actually unbelievable that no-one, not even The Twins or Snotlout haven't interrupted him. He continued to reach over to a book next to him and start to scroll through it. He very quickly realized it was the book he wrote and drew in when he first met Toothless. He read through it extremely quickly, remembering how exciting it was for younger him to discover all of this. Although for Hiccup, it was nothing out of the ordinary. There won't be an ordinary anymore, not after we explore this side of the Archipelago, he thought to himself. Suddenly Toothless' head perked upwards, his ears twitching side to side. Hiccup lifted himself to kneeling. He frantically looked around, attempting to find his flaming sword. It was nowhere in sight. Oh, Gods, I need to stop letting the twins use it to light the torches around their Boar Pit, wait why did I agree with that again? Toothless begun to growl as Hiccup could start to hear footsteps on the creaky wood. Hiccup stopped to think for a moment. Wait... what if it's just Astrid or Snotlout?
"Hold your fire Toothless." He quickly whispered.
The creaking got closer and closer, until finally... It was just Astrid.
"Morning Hiccu-" She cut herself off as she realized he was staring right at her with an extreme expression of fear. Hiccup became less tense as Toothless lifted himself up and walked off on two legs, comically hiding his face with his paw.
"I'm not a dragon hunter Hiccup, calm down," Astrid warned. Hiccup smiled awkwardly and walked over to her.
"Er... sorry it was my mistake- or Toothless- Probably mine- wait- no-." Astrid cut him off by kissing him. Hiccup's eyes widened as she let him go. He was about to say something when suddenly a dragon came shooting overhead and landed by the Training Dome. Before Hiccup could turn around Astrid was on Stormfly, flying down to the Training Dome. He rolled his eyes and ran to go find Toothless.
After landing, Hiccup realized that this dragon was not being ridden on but was the Screaming Death. The dragon slithered left and right frantically as Fishlegs was trying to calm it down.
"Er... Hiccup I could use some help her- AH!" Fishleg yelped before ducking. The Screaming Death continued to thrash around, ripping holes in the sides of the Training Dome. Toothless grunted grabbing Hiccup's attention.
"Oh, sorry bud, you do your thing." Hiccup replied. Toothless smiled eagerly as his puffed out his chest and spat a ball of plasma at the Screaming Death, capturing his attention. He very quickly twisted and shot a deathly look at Hiccup and Toothless, but not long before recognising them and abruptly landing. By now everyone living on Dragon's Edge was here, they all landed and re-grouped.
"He looks so frightened... Hiccup I think somethings wrong..." Fishlegs guessed. Hiccup stopped to think for a second.
"But what?" Hiccup questioned. Snotlout grunted angrily.
"Hey! Maybe he was bored and DECIDED TO COME ALL THE WAY HERE TO HELP SPREAD THE BOREDOM! GEE THANKS!" Snotlout ranted.
"Maybe something got stolen from them." Tuffnut piped in.
"Yeah! Maybe uh..." Ruffnut replied. They thought for a few moments before slowly looking towards each other and yelling:
"Uncle Fenris' super crazy AXE!" They yelled at the same time. Snotlout rolled his eyes.
"Er... Uh... how many Uncles do you guys have?" Hiccup stammered. Tuffnut and Ruffnut both looked at Hiccup in disbelief.
"You haven't been COUNTING?" Tuffnut rasped. Ruffnut gasped and they shook their heads.
"How dare you? Have ANY of you been counting?" Ruffnut inquired. Astrid shrugged, Fishlegs shook his head and Hiccup just smiled awkwardly.
"What about you Snotlout?" They challenged. Snotlout looked at them for a few moments, probably computing with whatever they just asked him.
"Uh, lemme think, One, Two, Three- wait NOBODY cares!" Snotlout scolded. The Twins looked at him with anger, shaking their heads in disgust.
"I hate to admit it guys, but the Twins might be right." Fishlegs admitted.
The twins knocked their heads together making their helmets make a CLANG sound.
"He's trying to tell us something." Fishlegs continued, as the Screaming Death started to use his tail to draw in the dirt. First, he drew an awkward oval shape, then what looked like hands, then he rubbed out the oval shape. He looked up at the riders with hope in his face, hope they understood what the problem is.
"That was a perfect oval! Why did you rub it out, Mr Screaming Death?" Tuffnut growled. Fishlegs looked at Hiccup in the eyes, they both knew what this meant. Fishlegs looked back up at the riders.
"The Screaming Death had an egg of his own and it got stolen."
