Things hadn’t changed since my mother had caught me with Chris. My mother had effectively swept it underneath the rug. I’m sure she convinced herself that it was all just some elaborate dream that she had which I was glad about. She still however didn’t want me hanging around Chris. And for the rest of the days, I was supposed to house watch Ian’s place – She took over.

The day Ian came back, I saw her talking to him in his driveway. I had no clue what they were talking about, but he let her inside without question. That made me nervous.

She returned home a half an hour later, walking straight into my room. “Ryder, Ian needs you to walk his dog. Ian and I had a conversation and I think you should apologize to him for using his house the way you did.”

I could feel my stomach twist into knots as I walked out of the house, her eyes following mine as I crossed the street to Ian’s place. His front door was already open. I bit down on my lower lip as I pushed the screendoor open, closing it softly behind me.

“Close the front door behind you, Ryder,” Ian’s voice rang from upstairs. I locked the door behind me, shoving my hands into my pocket as I moved upstairs. My heart was beating against my chest as I stopped outside of his bedroom door, silently debating if I should walk in or not.

I had no idea what my mother told Ian, but I knew no matter what details she may or may not have left out, Ian and I would be having a very serious conversation. I was just hoping he wouldn’t break up with me.

My throat went dry as soon as I saw Ian standing by his bed, unpacking the clothes from his suitcase. His eyes flickered onto mine as he as a grin appeared on his face.

“Did you miss me?” he asked as he walked over towards me, resting his arms on my shoulders. His hands fell onto my cheeks as he pulled me into a kiss. I broke the kiss after a minute or two as images of Chris and I flashed through my head.

“Well I guess that’s a no,” Ian chuckled, his hands brushing down my waist. “I guess my fantasy of you, waiting naked on top of my bed was just a twisted figment of my imagination. Instead I got your mother blabbing on about you having visitors while I was gone.”

I shrugged, changing the conversation. “Did you have a good trip?”

Ian’s hazel green eyes flickered onto mine as he nodded. “Yeah. Everything is underway. I just need to make some small changes. But that’s boring stuff. Let’s talk about you. Are you ok? Did something happen while I was gone? You know aside from breaking my house rules.”

I could feel the blood drain from my face as I shook my head, lying to him. “No. I’m fine. I’m just tired I guess.” And feeling guilty but I couldn’t tell him that.

Ian slung his suitcase off his bed, shoving it into his closet, before grabbing my hand and pulling me closer to him. He brought those soft lips of his onto the side of my neck, tracing kisses down my adam's apple. I stood there stiffly as his hands fell into my pants as he began massaging me over my boxers. I let out a moan as he pushed me onto his bed, bringing his lips onto mine.

“Ian,” I muttered in between in kisses, trying to stop him. “I – I can’t. I should get home. My mother is under the impression I will be coming right back.”

Ian smirked at me. “Oh this won’t take long, Ryder. I can be quick when I need to be.”

Just as Ian brought his lips back to mine, there was a knock on the door. Ian groaned as he stood up from the bed, moving swiftly out of his room. I slid my pants up as the knocking continued. I could hear him unlocking the back door as soon as I was about halfway down the stairs.
