Chapter 4

Bigby's POV

After a sort of restless night sleeping next to Heather, I wonder why she screamed for a second time this week. I need to keep an eye on her

She has seemed to be a little different since her birthday but, I think I should spend more time with her to be fair

Heather was sleeping on the couch so I could keep an eye on her, just in case she has a nightmare again

She sits up and rubs her eyes, "morning, how did you sleep?" I ask her

"Sort of, not the best I've ever had but it was ok" she stretches and yawns

I have an idea, "you know what? How about we go and see Toad and TJ today, you can spend time with him"

Heather looks up at me, "yes please, that would be great" she gets up

After breakfast, Heather gets ready and we head out towards Toad and TJ's place

We enter, I knock on the door and Toad opens the door, "Oh, Bigby, Heather. What are you two doing here?"

"Hey Toad, Heather didn't have a great nights sleep so I was wondering, to make her feel better, she could spend time with TJ if that's ok with you?" I ask him

"Sure, that would be fine, come in" he opens the door more and we walk in

"Heather!" TJ shouts as he walks over

"Hey TJ!" Heather says to TJ

"Come with me Heather, I'd like to show you some things," he takes Heather's hand and takes her into his room

"They are such good friends, I'm glad you found her" Toad says as he walks down towards the sofa

"I'm going to go back to the Woodlands and do more work" I say as I walk out the door and close it

5:38pm...Toad's Place

After quite a long day at the business office, after having an argument with Bluebeard and getting into a small fight about Heather, I arrive back to pick Heather up. I bet she had a great day being with TJ

When I enter, poor Toad was asleep as Heather and TJ were still in his room. His door opens and out walks Heather, "Hi Bigby" she whispers as if she knew Toad was sleeping

"Hello Heather, ready to get back?" I ask her

"Yeah, I am" TJ comes out too

"Mr Wolf?" TJ says

"Heather, just wait outside for a minute, I'll be right out" she nods and kisses my cheek before walking out

"Yes TJ" he looks down as I roll my eyes and bend down to his height

"Could you give this to Heather, I got it for her that I forgot to give this her on her birthday"

"What is it if you mind me asking?"

"It's a picture that Toad took of me and Heather together, and I'd like her to have it." It said 'best friends' in bubble writing at the top

"Sure thing TJ" I smile slightly and stand back up to walk to Heather. I then notice she was crying and had a scratch on her face. "Heather what happened to you?" I ask her, worried

"I-it's was Bluebeard, he s-said if you d-don't send me to another f-family, he'll hurt m-me even more..." she breaks down again

"Hey hey hey, it's ok" I hug her like I'll never let her go, "he is never gonna hurt you, and I'll never get rid of you, I promise you that. Come on, let's go" I carry her with me and walk down the the woodlands

I walk into the business office with her in my arms and Snow was in there "Heather sweetheart, what happened?"

"Fucking Bluebeard!"

"Why? What has he done?"

"I was waiting outside for Bigby, and Bluebeard comes up to me and scratches my face. Telling me, if I don't leave, he'll hurt me even more"

Snow looks up at me in a sad way, "I need to go talk to him as this is unacceptable. I can't tell Crane because he would agree and wouldn't do anything about it. Don't worry, we'll protect her"

I look down at her as she looks forward, not really doing anything

We clean up her cut wound on her cheek, it stops bleeding and put a plaster on it. "Is that better darling?" I ask her

"Yeah, it's better thank you. It still stings"

"Ok, that means it should be healing properly" I wanted to make her feel better

Why would Bluebeard do that to her? She hasn't done anything wrong to him so I don't know why him and Crane are so against her so me, she is such a sweet girl and, she would never do anything to hurt anyone, and I know that. I just have to keep him and Crane away from her. I never want her to be brought up in a very rough environment, not at all

We keep her with me and Snow in the business office, while doing some more work on the murders, Heather reads her favourite book

It got quite dark quite quickly as I carry on working

Heather's POV

I see Snow and Bigby were busy so I put my book down, creep up to the door and walk out so I can have time to my own and have a walk

I went out for the walk. It was dark, but I didn't mind it to be honest

I look at the floor and see, blood. Looking forward, I see more and decided to follow it (A/N: Sorry XD)

It led me in a large, wide alleyway along a metal fence. The blood spots got more close together until I see blood dripping from up above, hearing it drop onto the floor. I look up and see a corpse, hanging there, and it makes me scream

Bigby's POV

I look to see how Heather was and I see that she had gone, "Where is Heather?" I ask Snow. Suddenly, we hear screaming coming from somewhere. "Heather?!" Me and Snow run out of the building and over to where I could smell her scent. It led us to an alleyway and there was Heather, her back up against a wall

"Heather!" We run to her, "What happened? Are you ok?" I ask her

"L-look" she points towards the fence and we see a dead body, hanging on the fence

"Oh my god" Snow says as she had to look away

Some police cars come and officers jump out to suspect the body, one comes up and says, "we heard screaming from the station, who was it that screamed?" He asked

"It was my daughter, she found the body" He nods and goes to the body to inspect it

We walk out of the alley way and I bend down to Heather's height. She looked so scared, "Are you alright now Heather?"

She only nods in response. I was really confused on how we and the police officers could hear Heather's screaming

A/N: this is the third time Heather has screamed which not a lot of people really do

I am not even sure if she is a Mundy or not, I can't say just yet
