Too soon they were in the all-too-familiar hall outside the all-too-familiar dance studio watching students practice an all-too-familiar choreography. He hasn't even had time to order his thoughts. Jungkook forced himself to not duck behind Taehyung and regretted this decision instantaneously. The instructor had already spotted him. He groaned.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked, eyes scanning the dancing bodies for Yeri.
"That." Jungkook nodded.
The instructor was about to meet them in the hall. "It's been too long since I've seen you here, Jungkook."
"Shownu." He acknowledged.
"These students could use a demonstration..." Shownu urged.
"I haven't been keeping up, sir."
"You were never one who needed to."
"Sorry, but no. Not today." Jungkook spoke seriously, shutting him down.
"Alright. But I wish you'd visit more often. You could always sign back up?"
Jungkook shook his head. "I'll have to think about it."
Giving up, for now anyway, Shownu went back to dismiss his class.
"Who's that?" Taehyung asked distractedly.
"Professor Shownu. I took his class freshman year, but I dropped it. I wanted to focus more on the music."
"Oh, I didn't know that."
"Jungkook!" Yeri had emerged from the studio. "Tae!"
The latter turned to greet her. "Hello Yeri." He bowed.
"How are you? Do you feel any better?" Yeri questioned.
Taehyung seemed taken aback. He hasn't anticipated worry, he'd expected anger, or at least indifference.
Yeri blushed, waving a dismissive hand. "I'm just glad you're alright."
Jungkook watched the awkward exchange from the safety of the wall. Well, he watched, but he didn't really see. He was thinking about the class. He could pick it up. He would be able to catch up. Did he want to? That's what he was unsure about. Sure, he probably had the time for it, but would it be too much to handle?
"Jungkook? Oh my god, is that you? It's been ages!"
"What?" He started.
"I said it's been awhile, Lisa, remember?" Lalisa Manoban was talking to him.
"Sorry, I was in my head. Yeah I remember." He amended. "The last we talked was probably freshman year."
"Yes it was." Lisa laughed. "I didn't know what happened. Why'd you drop the class?"
"I needed to focus on my other classes."
She nodded. "You never seemed to know what down time was."
Kook smiled softly. "Not really."
She hefted her bag over her shoulder and cast a backwards glance down the hall. "Well, I have to go. It was really good seeing you, Kookie. We should hang out some time."
"Yeah," He lied.
Lisa jogged away, huffing her blonde hair out of her eyes. He turned to find Taehyung and Yeri watching him, matching expressions of curiosity on their faces.
Jungkook found he was having trouble breathing. He wanted to be alone so badly. He needed to go home before he had a meltdown. He'd had too much human interaction to be healthy.
"I-i'm going home now. Bye you two." He tried to sound light, but he walked away quickly.
Matching sets of furrowed brows watched him retreat.
He got home and locked the door. Hey unceremoniously dumped his bag on the ground and kicked off his shoes. The air, though cooking in its approach to autumn, was oppressive. He stumbled into his bedroom, stripping off his shirt and jeans with his wildly shaking fingers. His heart was beating too fast and he felt his whole being shake with nerves. He slid into the cool sheets and closed his eyes. He tried to breathe.

Tae watched Jungkook go. He was worried. Jungkook was flushed and he seemed upset. Who exactly was this Lisa anyway?
"So Yeri, um, so you-"
"Yeri! You didn't call! What happened? Did your phone die?"
"Seulgi, jeez. I was talking. I'm sorry Tae, what was it?"
"I, um, no. Nevermind, sorry. I have to work on a paper tonight," He felt bad about lying, but he wanted out. "I should get going. I'll see you, okay?"
She smiled. "Yeah, okay. See ya!"
