In a world where everything is in shades of gray (alternatively the soulmates eye color EX. I can only see in shades of blue, green, brown, etc.) your only goal is to meet your soulmate. Only then can you see in the shades that make the world so bright and colorful.

You have a black mark where your soulmate will touch you for the first time. And when they do, that mark and your world will burst into color. EXCEPTION: If you do the shades of the soulmate's eye color, the mark will remain black. Alternatively, your world doesn't even have to be monochrome. Just some dark mark soulmate detector that still bursts into colors.
