It was amazing to see and he could understand why she felt so at home with them. The banter and teasing weren't much different as to how he was with his own brother and family.
"I know, it's just that I'll miss you and keeping Arthur calm is a job in its own." Kate snickered, dropping her head against his chest. "I know Love, he'll be fine, it seems like nothing happened." he grinned over Kate's head to see his son jumping on the bed with his teddy bear in his arms.
"That's my point." Kate snickered in his chest whilst squeezing her arms around him. When they heard the doorbell, both of them let out a heavy sigh. "Arthur, come on say goodbye to daddy," Kate called him over, knowing the cab had arrived and he had to leave.
"When will you be back daddy?" Arthur asked him with a tilt of his head as Glen crouched down in front of him on the floor. "in two days, sleeping twice." Glen explained as he ran his hand through his son's hair. He would miss both of them, but he was a part of this band and he had his duty to do. It was to bad at times that it took him halfway around the world. This time it was only Germany, but it would still be too far away from them.
"That's still so long, why can't you just stay here with me and mummy?" Arthur asked him in his childlike innocence as Kate smiled down at both of them. "Daddy has to go to work bud, much like when I have to leave. Daddy will be back before you know it," she told him, knowing it wasn't giving much comfort that she had to say goodbye to her boyfriend once more already. But the fact that they had the summer mostly to themselves was a big comfort already.
"I know, but daddy always leaves, I want him to stay with us," Arthur argued, looking back at his dad as Glen gave him an apologetic look. "I know bud, I'll try to come back as soon as I can, then we can cuddle some more on the couch and watch a movie," Glen told him, kissing his son's forehead as they heard the doorbell once more. "I have to go, I'll be back soon," Glen promised them both as he kissed them goodbye before he took his overnight bag and left them both to spend the next two days all by themselves.

"Are you sure?" Kate asked Glen, a week later, Arthur was fully recovered from his surgery, it seemed like nothing had even happened. They'd been preparing themselves for the Trooping in a few hours. Glen had assured her that he was going to come along, no problem at all. She was used to attending this for the last four years but she could imagine that it was a lot to take in for Glen. He was dressed in a morning suit much like the wedding of Harry and Meghan. She figured that he was slowly getting used to it all by now. But still, even to Kate, it was sometimes overwhelming to be a part of all of this.
"Of course I'm sure, you don't have to worry about me," Glen reassured her, his hands coming to rest at the small of her back as he ran his thumb back and forth. "I do, I can't help it, love. I'm a little more used to it than you are sweetheart. It's a very hectic day with pomp and circumstance." she explained, moving her hands up his back to rest at the base of his neck, her head tilted as she gazed into his eyes.
"I'm with you Princess, you know that. now and forever and I'll take everything that comes along with it. Pomp and circumstance and everything that comes with it." He reassured her, continuing to rub his thumb back and forth before dropping his head against hers.
"alright." she sighed, her one hand resting on her bump as she rubbed her thumb back and forth on the small curve of her bump. "do we appear on the balcony?" Glen wondered a bit nervously, he was alright with going and being a part of the life that she had. But appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, now that was something that made him very nervous.
"No, we stand in the room attached to it and we take one of the small buses to the Square, we'll sit within the Royal room though. Everyone there you've already met, so you don't have to worry about it," she reassured him, trying to still his nerves. "We'll be fine." He reassured her, that he could handle without a problem.
The day did go off without a single hitch, it was a relaxed manner despite the surroundings they were in. Glen had been able to relax and Arthur had been his usual cheery self throughout it all. He'd been running from room to room with Maria chasing after them. The Queen had been delighted by their antics, certainly when Charlotte joined their charades.
The next day the three of them had joined the Cambridge family to watch a polo match. It was a steady feature in her spring-summer calender. Kate and Arthur had always cheered Harry and William on during their matches, looking around the field, it surprised her how she hadn't been discovered before. It was littered with the press, but it didn't stop them from enjoying their usual day out.
