"I know, it's just." she sighed, dropping her head against Glen's shoulder, covering her small bump with her hand. relaxing in her future husband's hold as she tried not to worry about her son being operated on. But how could she not? she was a mother and mum are always worried, no matter what.

"he's our little boy," Glen whispered, running his thumb back and forth against her side. "I love you," he whispered as she kept on gazing at the door that led to the operating theatre. He too hoped to get a glimpse of the doctor that had assured them that Arthur would be perfectly alright and would be back to his usual self in no time.

Half an hour later, it was well into the night, nearing morning when the doctor walked up to them with a reassuring expression on his face. A smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "He's fine, he's in recovery right now, you can go and see him if you'd like. the surgery was a success and he should be back to his boisterous self in no time." the doctor reassured them as both Kate and Glen led out a sigh of relief. they knew that he'd been in capable hands, of course, he was, they were at one of the best children's hospitals in the world. but still, there was something about giving the care of your son over to a total stranger. "Thank you, when can we see him?" Kate asked him in her formal tone but Glen heard the exhaustion in her voice, this weekend had already been exhausting with the wedding and such. Now this, he hoped to convince her to take the week off so that they could just spend it together, relaxing and letting their hair down. he was off once again Saturday morning and he wanted to enjoy the time that they still had together.

"Now, if you'll follow me please." the doctor asked them as they followed him to a pretty much empty room. there was only one bed with Arthur inside of it, his eyes were still closed, his head lulled to the side as his hand was reached out to something not quite there.

"Hey my little one, mummy's here." he heard Kate whisper as she bend over the railing to kiss the top of her son's head as Glen rounded the bed to take the other side of his son as he too made sure that their son was alright and recovering well from his surgery.

"He's fine Catherine, Glen and I have warned him time and time again that he can't jump on the bed like he usually does," Kate assured her best friend as she sat in the corner of her son's room, a smile on her face as her son and boyfriend sat on the bed. Glen was attempting to make him rest once more, which had been quite a task ever since he woke up and wanted to go to school and play with George and tell everyone all about the wedding he'd been a part of.

Things weren't going the way he wanted to and he was quite vocal about it without a doubt. "That's my godson." she heard Catherine grin over the phone as Kate rolled her eyes. "I'll see you soon," Kate told her as she knew Catherine would be by the moment she'd gone to pick up both George and Charlotte from school. There was no stopping the future queen of England to come by and see her godson recovering from surgery.

Putting her phone down, she watched her soon to be husband and son on the bed. Glen had allowed him to play a game on his phone, which seemed to keep him calm for the moment. Keeping your almost five-year-old son calm after abdominal surgery wasn't that easy as everyone would make it seem.

"You okay?" Glen asked, bringing Kate out of her rivalry and thought. "yea." she sighed tiredly, they'd been at the hospital for a few hours now already. It was early evening and they'd been there since four in the morning. Her back was really starting to hurt, she'd had to go to the loo every five minutes with her pregnancy. And then there was the worrying about her son, but he seemed to be doing okay.

"He'll be fine sweetheart," Glen reassured her as he gave her a small reassuring smile. "I know, I'm just tired," she told him with a shrug of her shoulders, whilst rubbing the small of her back. "Come here," Glen whispered as he got off of the bed, walking up to Kate and pulling her up, before settling her in his lap. "Better?" Glen asked her as he started to rub the small of her back, his other hand resting on her tiny baby bump.
