Addition is the easiest type of expression in the world. On a number line, you take one number in the expression to start on, then take the next number, and move that many spaces to the right. In your head, you can also take one number, and with the next number, just count that many natural numbers up, at intervals of 1.
Example
If you need to add 2 to 4, you would need to start at to, then count up four numbers. (2. 3,4,5,6.) The answer is therefore 6.
