prologue

"so... what are you going to be doing this summer?" my best friend, june, asked me, leaning against her locker. i shrugged my shoulders and shut my locker. 

"maybe," i started. "i could, like, have a weekover?" i asked. lily smiled and jumped up and down, clapping, dropping her things. 

i burst out laughing. "okay!" she said when she collected herself. "my mom and dad are leaving for like a week or two, for their trip, so you can come over then. what about yours?" she asked.

"uhhh... my mom would probably say yes because dad is out on his comedy tour. my mom is just a real estate owner so, she doesn't get back until like, 9 pm. so sure!" i explained.

lily nodded. "okay. well i'll see you after last period! also, tonight. me and you are having a girls night out. we'll get our nails and hair done, and then definitely go shopping!" lily ranted.

"okay," i laughed. the bell rang. "bye!" i waved.

"not bye, later!" she joked. i ran to my next class.

as my teacher walked in, he threw his papers on the desk. "you guys, are getting your test scores back. today and now." he said strictly.

everybody quieted down, except for the jocks in the back, giggling and pointing out thots that they'd fuck, but NEVER date. 

"brooo, what about lily? i'd smash." one of them said, getting a bunch of 'yeahs, sames'. i whipped around, and saw the jocks checking me out. 

"fuck off, bitches!" i flipped them off. they laughed. "she's feisty!" one of them, yolen, stated.

"enough!" my teacher yelled. "if you don't sit down, that will be minus 15 points!" he said. i shrugged my shoulders, then sat down. he wasn't going to do that, because he can't. like, what the fuck?

"okay. if you get over 60, you pass. under, you stay." mr. bottomfeeder said. i took a deep breath.

i tuned out most of the names until it got to yolan. "yolan drum, a 61%. barely passing. good job, i guess." he said. yolan stood up and cheered like he just won a battle royale 500 times in a  row.

"sit down and shut up!" mr. bottomfeeder yelled. yolan flipped him off, only to be sent to the principles office. 

"stupid bitch." i muttered, while laughing. 

"lily white, a 89%. real good job!" mr. bottomfeeder told me, actually surprised. 

"don't act surprised that i'm smarter than all these wimps." i stated. mr. bottomfeeder smiled, not rejecting because he knew i was right.

once class was over, me and june walked over to the nearest food place, and we ended up at the George Street Diner.

yes, it's popular where we live, because apparent shawn mendes filmed a music video there. but it was empty when we got there.

i ordered a small egg salad, and macaroni with a water. june ordered a mushroom bisque with tuna salad sandwhich.

i cringed, as i hated mushrooms. then the diner gave us a free refillable fry thingy. we digged in. as we did, i noticed boys walk in. there were five of them, and can i say pretty cute.

they sat at the booth in front of us. me and june finished eating, and payed then left. as we left, we noticed the boys also left.

we shook it off and just walked to my house, as i could drive and have a car but june doesn't.

"so. i'll go get my freetime credit card." i told her. she nodded. as i opened my door, i screamed. my dad was there.

he punched me in the head, and i passed out.

~june's pov~

i screamed for help as this dude knocked lily out from inside her own house! like what the fuck?

just then, apparently the boys that were following us just moved in next door to lily, were walking down and heard me screaming. that man that knocked out lily, was tall and muscular. 

he wore a hood, and he looked like a purple guy. whatever. he was walking towards me. just then the boys started to attack him, only to be sprayed with something.

the purple man then walked over to me, ignoring their bodies like it was nothing. he walked over to me and pinched my nose so i couldnt breathe. just then i fainted.
