"Let's just keep going this way, we're heading to the castle... I guess a straight imaginary line works best than to take a right or left, like, you know, let's keep our north."

"Yeah, you're right! That way seems to keep us along the lakeshores anyway," he said signing to the left.

"We should head towards the bridges, or maybe—" he received another call, yet he answered this one. He looked at me holding a laugh and whispered that it was Katy. I held my laugh too and waited for him to finish talking on the phone.

"Okay, we can go to the bridges for Katy to kill us, or head right towards Azalea Pond. T.J. and Diana got lost too so basically we're all lost. So we're meeting at the pond."

"Let's go to the pond then and hopefully we won't meet Katy on our way there, or we could get killed anyway."

"Or... we could still go to the bridges. We just give it a bit of time, like—"

"Following their tails, so we don't die in the woods of Central Park," I finished his sentence.

"Yeah, we still have so much to live for," he approached close enough to almost put his arm around me and kiss me on my cheek as he used to do. He, instead, just looked at me smiling, still amused by our jokes. He gazed intently into my eyes, and for a moment I thought he was going to kiss me, until we got interrupted by a couple of birdwatchers, "so, the bridges, which is the way?"

"Follow me," I said and grabbed his hand to lead him towards the rustic bridges. He didn't let go for a while, to what I was a little surprised. We walked slowly so we didn't crash into Katy and whoever was with her.

"Are we staying awhile?" He asked once we arrived, leaning against a tree.

"What? You really want to get killed, don't you?"

"No, I just," he paused and looked at me smiling, "we're alone now, and I have so many questions, don't you?"

I looked at him, perplexed, "I mean, I guess... Yeah, I do," I admitted and he slightly smiled before he continued walking towards the bridge, where we stayed like before, near the railing.

"I missed you, Jo," his words shook my mind. I found myself shocked again at his presence. "Sorry, if it was inappropriate of me to—"

"I missed you too," I replied, interrupting him. Yet, I was unaware as to how I managed to say anything. "It was not inappropriate, it was the truth, right?"

"It is! I wanted to call you, so many times. I know how we left things when our paths took separate ways, but sometimes, I find myself thinking if it was ever the right choice."

"Oh—"

"Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to hear your life turned out just how you planned, mine did too... Kinda... Things are a little complicated right now, but anyway. Never mind, I'm just babbling."

"Wait, no! Are you okay?" Out of instinct, I grabbed his hand and approached, but as soon as I realized what I was doing, I backed away.

"I am, don't worry!" He said slowly, just as when he was lying about something.

I refrained from pushing further to make him talk since it is not my place anymore. We just met again, yet the routine creeps back in fast and I feel like I have all these rights I let go of.
