Nate's grandfather in the m/m. ****

AMBER P.O.V. –

“I’ve known this young man, since before he could walk. This city better watch out. Two Parkers serving at the same time, this city is in for a complete turn around.”

I looked into the crowd and heard the people cheering. Nate’s grandfather who was the governor of Georgia was introducing him.

“He’s lived up to everything he’s father could not be.” Governor Parker joke.

His father gave a smug laugh. He was really upset about that. I’ve learned that Nate’s father was really jealous of him, because his grandfather loved him so much. Which in my opinion is absolutely sick.

“I present to you your next mayor and my grandson who I wish my son, Mayor Nathanial Parker.” Governor Parker clapped and Nate took the podium.

I stood beside him with Assata in my arms.

“Thank you Grandpa.” Nate smiled at his grandfather who stood back next to his father and mother. They all had fake smiles plastered on their faces.

“I would be remised if I didn’t begin this speech by first thanking my beautiful wife. She has stood by me not only as my wife, but as my campaign manager and I would not be standing before you if it wasn’t for her. Thank you again sweetheart.”

We did the Barack and Michelle Obama fist pump.

“You want one too Munch.” He fisted pumped Assata and the crowd let out a big “Awwwwww.”

“That’s my daughter Assata. She has brought immeasurable joy to my life, given me something to live for.” He kissed her cheek.

People were saying things like “Awww she’s so beautiful.” “They are such a beautiful family.”

I looked down ashamed, especially seeing Cha and the girls in crowd.

Nate’s mother coughed and I turned around. “Big smile darling.” She said through gritted teeth, smiling. I did as she said. We never told her the baby wasn’t Nate’s, but I know she knew.

“And to the people of Atlanta I thank you for your never ending support. You guys had the faith that I could lead this city and I will not let you down. I promise to revitalize this city and make it the major metropolis it deserves to be.”

People cheered loudly.

“I thank you again and look forward to serving you. God bless.” He waved to the people before grabbing my arm.

“Wave and smile darling.” His mother smiled at the crowd. I did as she instructed.

And we all left the platform.

“I need to speak to somebody real quick.” I told Nate.

“The limo is waiting.” His father said with an attitude.

“Let the limo wait.” I eyed him. I hated the guts out of that man.

“Jr. if she wants to talk to someone let her go.” Nate’s grandfather Governor Parker said and urged me to go on.

“Thank you.” I rolled my eyes at his father and pointed out Cha and the girls to the security and told him to bring them behind the stage so I could speak with them.

Everyone else waited in the limo. I heard sounds of little feet and laughter and I saw the girls and Cha come around back with security.

“Auntie Amb!” They all exclaimed.
