Recipe
A/N : I know this is not specifically about poems but it is about writing and can easily be adapted to poetry as well.
I love writing, but I am not the greatest at describing the scene where the story takes place.
I believe that dialogue can fill in a lot of the gaps and the thoughts and actions of those in the scene can fill in a little more.
I have read books in the past that spent so much time describing a scene, that I forgot what the story was actually about.
So my theory on writing is simple…
Give the basics and let the reader fill in the blanks.
Let their imagination do the work.
Let them create it based on their …
Dreams
Wishes
Fantasies
Experience
Emotions
and even
Fears.
Its like working off a great recipe.
It provides a list of ingredients and instructions.
It is up to you to make it your own.
